Don’t let the decor fool you the food is excellent service is fast. This is a must try in Laguna Beach for a hole in the wall dinner.

Coffee and Eggs Benedict were spot on. Had a table outside. Service was fine. My wife loved her breakfast and she’s hard to please with breakfasts. Saturday morning it was busy as expected.

Took 5 minutes for us to get acknowledged, we just sat down wherever. They got our order wrong. When food came out it was bland no seasoning. French toast was cold and tough, fried potatoes were boiled potatoes with no flavor. My omelet was wet and runny again no flavor. Would not return.

Forty years ago this place was an institution. But why anyone goes here now I have no idea. We were there on a drizzly midweek morning, and there was only one other single patron. My husband’s pancakes came out first and were rubbery. We had to flag the waitress down )remember, there’s on one else here) to remind her to bring the blueberries. When he was halfway through his meal, they brought the blueberries and my fruit in a cup. The fruit was old, bruised and ugly. About five minutes later she delivered my omelette (which was tasty) but it took another 5 minutes before my pancake (sub for toast) arrived. No bottomless cup of coffee offered frequently and this is no deal; omelettes are $19 and the cup of coffee is $4.25. And the atmosphere inside is worn and tacky. No way am I ever returning.

Ordered the penguin sandwich. First time I’ve had it on burnt toast with missing bacon. Chef… Are you kidding me? I know how to cook that’s an obvious slap on the face because the toast is starting point of the sandwich you’re building on. If you knew it was burnt you start over because it’s the cheapest ingredient. Moreover I know your menu. I’m not new to your place, although you don’t see me often, you’ll see me less often now.

Went to this restaurant based on online reviews. The food is generally good. People who usually drink coffee will find the coffee in the store to be very weak.

Amazing food. This place is well worth every penny. The prices are extremely reasonable too, especially for Laguna Beach. We will definitely be back!

Great find for this town. Very traditional. When most restaurants are trying extreme variations on food, this is what I am used to.
