This is nothing like PIATTI in Danville, and easy to get in, unlike Danville, because the food is terrible My 5 year old granddaughters spaghetti was raw, my carborara was inedible Customers and the waiter ran into the back of my chair multiple times, because there was only a 8 inch path behind me that they all used. There is no roast chicken or main entrees, no specials Mostly tourists were there, but WE LIVE HERE
Amazing restaurant so thankful that they opened up one here a few months ago. We've always been going to the same restaurant in La Jolla area. The service was top-notch. The food was excellent. The bread basket is phenomenal. Homemade pastas are out of this world.
Our server was friendly and efficient, and the food was absolutely delicious. We will be back for more.
This place is really nice, Great service Hugo was fantastic! Ambiance was nice. Food and drinks were top notch. I recommend the rigatoni bolognese! If you're looking for good Italian food this is the place.
I really like Piatti a lot. The food is so delicious, servers are so polite and good energy. We ordered the bread , whipped ricotta, mushroom pizza, chicken Marsala and the salmon. And a great bottle of Chianti Really loved it
Our second visit to Piatti and as usual, everyone enjoyed our lunch entrees. What makes this place special, is the large decorated space indoors as well as the spacious outdoor seating area. Staff is very attentive and you do not feel the rush to eat and leave. Salmon was cooked to perfection; the skin was crisp that the entire filet was consumed with a big smile. Kudos to Donny, the GM and friendly staff. We'll be back again soon.
Wonderful experience! Our waiter was great and very attentive with amazing recommendations. Menu is different from La Jolla, but still very good.
They were out of a few things on the menu and the service was off , we have been a few times and everything was much better
Our first visit. Had no idea the restaurant had been there since May. Beautiful interior and outdoor patio. Excellent food with a twist here and there, in a good way.
Enjoyed our meal big time. Lovely building and environment. Service was slow however. I'd pick up the pace a bit. Chicken Marsala very nice, as well as the Caesar salad and eggplant.

This was our first time and there were hits and misses for the experience.
We got a reservation, showed up on time and seated quickly but didn't get a server like 10' or so later. The service throughout the dinner was slow eventhough the server tried her best. We waited for at least 30' after the salad ... so we ended up to dine for 2.5 hrs instead 1.5 hrs the most... we didn't make any fuss but the management automatically accommodateed us with a veggie side dish and a small dip. That was very nice of them.
1. Beef capaccio: 4/5 - fresh and high-quality quality beef slices. However, it could use tiny bit acidity and white pepper...?
2. Chopped salad: 2.5/5 - was very fresh but bland in taste and flavors. I felt like eating raw greens. It needed some acidity, salt, and some flavors.
3. - our friend had it, it looked pretty appetizing.
4. Spaghetti Promodoro: 3.5/5 - the meatballs were delicious, tender, tasty, and got so much meaty flavor. The sauce was good, well balanced with brightness of tomato. However, the fresh spaghetti was very al dente, chewy.
5. - it was good but not best. Good taste but not so rich in flavors. I did ask the server to add a fresh pasta which the chef did. However, when I saw the charge in the bill, it was quite a sticker shock, $12. So $12 for a 4-5 oz fresh pasta? Compared to their $15 PIZZA Margherita or $18 Bianca? What am I missing here?
6. Pistachio gelato: 5/5 - as good as you can get at some well known gelateria in Italy. It was so creamy, so robust with pistachio flavor, not super sweet. I am a sucker for pistachio gelato so this is easily the best pistachio in OC.

They were very busy when we got there, but our waiter explained that there might be a wait for the food, which was good to know. Nonetheless, they brought our drinks and bread out pretty timely and the food followed in a reasonable amount of time. Our waiter and food were both very good. And they brought a birthday dessert to someone in our party which was also very nice.

My experience enlightened me as a person. It was utterly breathtaking how good the service, food, and atmosphere was. I truly felt like a valued member of the Piatti family. This was all because of my server Anna and host Arman. They are fantastic members of your staff. Right when I walked in, Arman welcomed and greeted me instantly cementing this place as my favorite restaurant. I will be coming back.

I was excited to try this place with my mom and sisters. I left feeling mixed about our experience. The waiter was good but I felt quite rushed. He pushed us to to order and everything came really quickly. I don't like to wait for my food but it felt too fast. He would refill our water glasses from the carafe on the table but would only pour 1/4 to a 1/2 a glass, not fill it. The food was okay. One of my sisters got the lemon spinach ricotta tortellini. The flavor was good but the noodle wasn't cooked all the way. I like my pasta al dente but this was almost hard. I got the ciopinno. It was good but not great. I think the best dish my party had were the short ribs on polenta, ordered by my other sister. When it came time for dessert the waiter said we should get the tiramisu and implied the other desserts were not good. He passed out dessert menus and it turned out that three of us got an old menu and only one of us got the current dessert menu. So that was weird. We ended up passing on dessert. I would consider trying Piatti again but wouldn't rush to do it.
