We travel to California from Washington state once a year and we always make sure to stop at Rubys in Laguna and sit on their upper patio if available. Food is always delicious and service is always exceptional. We will definitely keep coming back year after year.

Most excellent service! Saw the restaurant from the left side while driving opposite direction, so I had to turn around and it was definitely worth coming to eat at! Jaime G. was the most polite and courteous server! He checked in on us, and made sure our food was good and came back to the table right away when we needed to go cups for milkshakes we didn’t finish. Had a wonderful time for our first experience! Thank you Jaime G. for being such a kind person. We will remember the time we stopped in Ruby’s Diner and have a great memory to look back on.

Ordered a basic breakfast after the lunch cutoff and they were more than accommodating. My server, Jesus, is always extremely friendly and attentive. Nice to get good old fashion service and food in the heart of Laguna Beach! It’s a nice casual, family vibe with lots of locals. Nice upstairs outdoor seating with a view! A good spot away from the touristy eateries along PCH. 👍🏻

What a unique and interesting vibe.
Food was excellent, and cooked perfectly. Portions were great and service was beyond excellent. Plenty of great food on the menu. Prices were about typical for the location and area.
Overall atmosphere was really unique, and the classic cars were a nice touch.

👁❤️RUBY'S!! I've had the Pleasure of dining at several different locations now; Balboa Pier, Corona Del Mar, San Clemente and by far, the Laguna Beach store is my FAVE. The service is exceptional, fast, friendly and accurate and they always go the extra mile to ensure total satisfaction! Dry burger + fried and medium cherry coke like $23. Been here first and last time … for a diner their signature burger on sourdough with avocado was absolute garbage, fries frozen from a bag and shitty fountain drink. Seriously expected a little better. But it really sucks. Can’t believe this place is open. Hate leaving bad reviews … hate getting dry burgers more. They offered to remake it, but what’s the point? If they knew what to do they would’ve done it. Don’t need shitty undercooked burger. Anyway - go just about anywhere. Shake shack on PCH far better choice …. And I think cheaper … wow this place sucked … shockingly bad.

Got the most uncomfortable and unfriendly vibes from the guy at the cashier’s, to the point that I decided not to stay for a meal. I’ve never sensed that type of disdain from anyone in a service industry before, and the interaction made me wonder if this was because of the color of my skin or my gender.
