Went to the rooftop bar and all I can say is I have experienced the best service I have ever received from my 40 years of living. This man Shane, was an absolute pleasure. I have never had Somone so kind and keen on us experiencing a good time. Checked on us so many times, offered so many different drinks to try. I can’t explain how much good service means - i would recommend this place purely on the basis on Shane.

Subject: Unpleasant Experience with Hostess at Skyloft in Laguna Hills
Dear Skyloft Management Team,
I wanted to share feedback from a recent experience at your establishment in Laguna Hills. Our party of nine made a reservation for Saturday evening. We arrived approximately 15-30 minutes after our scheduled reservation time, which we realize was a bit late. However, as Skyloft accommodates walk-ins, we had hoped this slight delay wouldn’t impact our experience. Unfortunately, it became clear that our initial interaction with the hostess (whom I believe was named “Ella” or “Elie”) would set a less-than-welcoming tone for the evening.
Upon arrival, the hostess greeted us with what felt like an unwarranted attitude, making it seem as though we were inconveniencing her by requesting rooftop seating. Her dismissive tone implied that we were somehow asking for special treatment. When she instructed us to stand in a particular spot, it felt as though she simply wanted us out of her way, even though the location was inconvenient and in a walkway.
Thankfully, Shane, the bartender, noticed our predicament and kindly invited us to wait closer to the bar while enjoying a drink. Shane’s friendly and proactive approach stood in sharp contrast to our earlier interactions, and he truly exemplified excellent customer service.
However, as we waited, we overheard the hostess speaking with a supervisor named Yaris in a loud, sarcastic manner, commenting on our late arrival and our request for rooftop seating. Additionally, Yaris never once approached us or made eye contact while we waited at the bar, despite clearly being aware of the situation. This lack of acknowledgment, along with the dismissive remarks, felt unprofessional and disappointing in such a welcoming setting.
We were told we would be seated next, but during our wait, we observed multiple tables becoming available and being filled with other groups while we continued to wait.
We recognize that hospitality is a challenging field, and it’s not our intent to create conflict. We simply want to bring to your attention that the front-of-house team, particularly the hostess, can make a lasting impression on your patrons. Shane’s service was exceptional, and we appreciate his attention, but it was clear that the hostess’ attitude and lack of engagement from the supervisor affected the overall experience.

I went to Skyloft for a business dinner, and we all had a great evening! We started at the bar, and the bartender was on it! Super knowledgeable and speedy! Then, our group of 12 were seated, and the servers promptly took our drink and appetizer orders. All of the appetizers were delicious! We had the ahi tuna, wings, calamari, nachos, brussel sprouts, and octopus. We then ordered our main meals and everyone was very satisfied. We had a great evening.
The food is always amazing. The views of main beach while eating on the roof can't be beat - the music on the second floor is also one of my favorite things. Every 1st Thursday of the month is an All Star Jam band with some very famous musicians usually sitting in (add to that it's art walk in Laguna - so all the galleries stay open late) - it doesn't get much better than this spot 🤠

The experience was great our server Jose was awesome every time we needed something he was there. The food was amazing and the drinks seating was good too a little close but since it was on the rooftop I understand they don't have a lot of space to work with but either way it was comfortable. Highly recommend for anybody thinking about coming here it's great.
We thoroughly enjoyed the vibe of Herbs Place. Great ambience! The food was delicious as were the cocktails and all recommendations from our server. The service was outstanding as well.

Food was mediocre. My BBQ salad had a lot of brown lettuce probably prepared several days ago and it looked old. The BBQ smoked turkey and ribs were pretty good tasting. Texas toast was an unremarkable grilled slice of bread, nothing special. Seats are hard metal chairs which were not very comfortable. We won't be going back.
