A Laguna Beach MUST!! This is one of our favorite places in the whole Southern California.

Our server Brandon was outstanding. I always ask for Lesley but she wasnt working, Brandon was great. Of course our food and drinks were all great. The desserts made in house (cheesecake and flourless chocolate cake) were delicious.

This place was recommended to me by two different people. I was shocked at how mediocre the food was. The steamed shrimp dumplings were completely tasteless. And when we mention them to the waiter, they did not remove the plate or take them off the bill. I honestly think this was a tactic because our sushi took almost an hour to arrive so we did end up eating them since we were so hungry. Yes, it was busy, but it was not completely packed. Probably 75% of the tables were full. Out of all of the three sushi rolls, we tried, only one was any good and that was a special that was not on the menu. I have had better sushi from local grocery stores. I mean the spicy tuna was mediocre to the point of mildly disgusting. They need a new chef stat. If not a new chef, then their team needs to try every roll on the menu.

Our experience was FANTASTIC at starfish! We got tons of small plates to share and an entree...chicken curry was our favorite. Kaylee our server was amazing! So attentive and sweet.

Fresh sushi and tastefully Asian style food. Excellent happy hour for drinks and appetizers. Service is always outstanding with friendly and accommodating staff. A must restaurant when visiting Laguna Beach.

Server was good but kitchen was backed up so by the time we were ready to leave the green beans came out. The Korean tacos were cold too. Curry was good and hot. Ahi tuna roll good. My prosecco seemed flat as there were no bubbles. Front desk was excellent. We arrived about 40 mins early for our reservation and they made it work which was very nice.

We love Starfish and have celebrated NYE there for the past few years and have always had a great experience. Unfortunately, our server seemed a bit overwhelmed, so there were gaps between drinks and appetizer plates that extended too long, leaving empty glasses and plates for an extended period of time. Additionally the staff to clear plates and refill our water seemed light on headcount, and those who were present did not pay much attention. Once our server caught up, she did her best to stay on top of things, so I believe it may have been a staffing issue. We would still most definitely recommend Starfish, but hope management will more adequately staff for busy volume times in the future.
What a great spot! The ambience is very city-like: dark and moody yet modern. The service is awesome; our server came over often but not too often. Food was solid too. Would recommend and come back!

The Seabass with the coconut curry is phenomenal!! We have had Leslie as our sever twice and she is the sweetest!

Haven't been here for a bit, glad to know it's still as incredible as ever. The food is outstanding and fresh. A lot of variety on the menu and I don't have to worry about any cheese, lol. Drinks are probably the best cocktails around. Every bartender is so talented, they make every drink consistently. Service is upscale and impeccable. Dress chic or casual works too. Lively vibe that also feels intimate. Fantastic lighting and mood for a date night.

Our server was excellent and very accommodating with my friends gluten free requests. She even brought 2 birthday dessert, one being gluten free.
