I just went to the Sawdust Festival and do not get me wrong, the Sawdust Festival is a great place. However, this Mexican food was subpar. The taquitos tastes like the frozen taquitos you can get at the grocery store, the rice tastes like microwave rice and the black beans tastes like they were straight from the can. I just would like to save everyone the trouble and order someplace else that serves fresher food. Next time, I think I will try the Mediterranean spot instead.

Very bland food, poor service. I asked the cashier girl when I ordered if the bean and rice burrito came with toppings (salsa, guac etc.) She barked a quick "yeah" at me and then continued conversation with her friend sitting next to her. She didn't even respond when we thanked her. ? The $10 burritos did NOT come with toppings. Unseasoned beans straight from the can with plain white rice and cheese wrapped in a tortilla. Bummer!

The staff is only sharp enough to fog a mirror. The Food only had flavor with salsa. The owner/manager was a brute that doesn’t care about the food, the service, or the customer. He makes money cuz there’s only 2 food booths near entry/exit of sawdust festival. Trapped audience.

I recently had the opportunity to try Tacos Durrell at the Sawdust Festival in Laguna Beach for lunch, and I must say, it was a rather underwhelming experience. I wouldn't recommend it, and here's why:First and foremost, the tacos were exorbitantly priced at an average of $6 each. Naturally, I assumed that such a high price tag meant they would be exceptional tacos, but boy, was I mistaken. I decided to be adventurous and ordered one of each variety: chicken, shredded beef, carnitas, mushroom, and fish tacos.Upon receiving my order, my initial disappointment started to set in. The presentation was lackluster, to say the least. Each taco consisted of a flour tortilla, a mere spoonful of meat, and an overwhelming amount of shredded cabbage. Frankly, I couldn't even see the meat; it was completely buried under the mountains of cabbage. It felt as though I had ordered a bag of shredded cabbage and received a small sample of their meat as an afterthought. The lack of meat in the tacos was disheartening. I expected more substance and flavor, but it seemed like they were trying to compensate with an excessive amount of cabbage. The imbalance between the cabbage and meat was so pronounced that it completely overshadowed any taste the meat might have offered.Regrettably, these were by far the most disappointing tacos I've ever had in my entire life. I had looked forward to trying a variety of flavors, but the overwhelming presence of cabbage made it difficult to distinguish between the different fillings. It's unfortunate because the potential for a delightful taco experience was there, but it fell flat.Considering the price and the quality of the tacos, I cannot recommend Tacos Durrell. If you're looking for an authentic and satisfying taco experience in Laguna Beach, I would advise you to save your money and explore other options in the area. There are undoubtedly better places to enjoy mouthwatering tacos without the disappointment of feeling like you're eating cabbage with a side of meat.

Strange, poor quality, not real Mexican food. I am a vegetarian, so I ordered two tacos: a mushroom taco and a spicy tofu taco. They came with what looked like mission brand corn tortillas, straight out of the bag, not warmed or browned at all. One had sautéed mushrooms and the other had raw tofu that had been coated in a spicy seasoning. The tofu was heated/warm. The mushrooms did taste good. Both tortillas came with raw cabbage as the main topping, which was a little bit strange. Then store bought mild salsa (not fresh), more like the ones that come sealed in a plastic container. It had store bought shredded cheese on top as well. The tacos were $5.75 each. The staff was very friendly. The tacos were strange (not real Mexican food) and made from mediocre store bought ingredients. However, the taste was decent. Ate here at the Sawdust arts festival.

Choose another option if you can. Ingredients were poor quality, taste was lacking, and my fiancée bit into something strange in her taco.

I have been sick ever since eating there two days ago. Looks like food poisoning. Ordered fish tacos. Worst I've ever had. No flavor, fish bland, cabbage tasteless. Rice and beans...rice was white! No seasoning whatsoever. And the clincher, two days spent in the bathroom. My Gf didn't eat there, so she's safe.

One of the worst tacos and rice and beans. I ordered the spicy tofu tacos and rice and beans. The tortillas broke before I could take a bite. It was awful. I had to go ask for some salsa. It didn't make it any better. Also the rice and beans were tasteless. There are much better places at the sawdust festival. Try any place but here. I had to throw it all out. A huge waste.
