Chaupain Bakery = pure happiness! 🄐✨ We tried a bunch of pastries and loved every single one. The service was amazing, the vibes were perfect, and now we can’t stop thinking about their sandwiches. We’ll be back for those soon!

Staff is some of the kindest people I’ve met. Service is fantastic. The young woman behind the counter with glasses has such a warming attitude. And as someone who normally hates black coffee, their black iced coffee was absolutely delicious and didn’t need any cream or sugar. Love this place!

It's been 4 years that I go there and always so satisfied. Most of the time they give me free items!
I moved somewhere else recently and crave Chaupain all the time :)))
Their items are not so sweet and I don't feel guilty after eating them.
My favorite ones are pistachio crossiants and cream kefirs but everything is so delicious!

Got dang. We got the croissant sandwhich with eggs, gouda and avacado. *chefs kiss* it was rich and divine. Bruh, the turkey sandwhich with ficcocia was so good. I honestly felt like I was in a bakery in paris. The pastries were delicious and we also got the roast beef sandwhich with eggs, i forgot what its called, its one of the breakfast specialties. That was also good. It's a nice spot. I didn't try any of their lattes or drinks, but they looked good. Next time.

Edit: came back a second time. The service is 10 stars. Justin was an amazing server. I had their lattes, we orderd a bunch of pastries and sandwhiches. The best. Love this place. Literally feel like im back in paris. I also orderd the salad, so filling and delicious. This is my favorite resteraunt in orange county and socal.

The bakery is quaint and their pastries are wonderful. Nice and flaky for the croissants, silky smooth for the custard, and the fruits were bright and fresh. The staff are kind and friendly, they gave my friend and I a pastry on the house ā™”

Our experience at Chaupain was amazing! The quiche was fantastic, and all of the pastries are so good- you can’t go wrong. The service was also great! Theo was awesome :) Came around 11:00 on a Sunday and it wasn’t super busy/there was plenty of seating and the line moved quickly.
11/10 recommend!
Second time visiting today and brought our dog, Olive, and the staff made us feel so welcomed! Thank you Alyssa and Justin!

Chaupain Bakery is, without a doubt, a treasure of Orange County. This authentic French bakery has become our go-to spot for everything from a quick morning pastry to a satisfying weekend breakfast. Walking in, you're immediately hit with the incredible aroma of butter and freshly baked goods, and the display case is a stunning sight of meticulously crafted treats. It’s clear they are masters of their craft, and the quality is evident in every single bite.
On the pastry side, you absolutely cannot leave without trying the Kouign-amann. It is a masterpiece of baking. This pastry, with its countless layers of buttery, laminated dough and caramelized sugar, is the perfect combination of flaky, sweet, and chewy. The outside has a slight crunch from the crystallized sugar, giving way to a tender, buttery interior. It’s a truly decadent and unforgettable treat that pairs perfectly with a simple cup of coffee.
For something more substantial, the Sunrise Croissant is an absolute showstopper. They take their famously light and flaky butter croissant and fill it with perfectly scrambled eggs, ripe avocado, fresh tomato, and a creamy, flavorful aioli. It’s the breakfast sandwich perfected. Every ingredient is fresh, and the croissant holds everything together without becoming soggy. It’s a hearty, delicious, and wonderfully satisfying way to start the day. Chaupain is a true 5-star experience, consistently delivering exceptional quality and authentic French flavors.

Okay place, but I don`t really understand the hype. The place was recommended to me as a best place for breakfast nearby, but I don`t really get what`s special about it. The food is mediocre at best (looking great on the photo though)

I didn’t finish my omelet (although I was hungry).

Controversial place. My omelet assumingly was made out of cheapest eggs you can buy. It was so rubberish that they could make a trampoline out of it and jump all day long.
Other dishes were not that great as well. Bakery is ok though.

Not worth the money, imo.

If I lived here I’d be here every week. Angus was incredible. Amazing service. (I’m the mom who cried over how good the strawberry croissant was).

Prices rose and they renamed a breakfast burrito to ā€œfrench breakfast wrapā€? What’s french about a burrito served with salsa? Pastries are good when they give you free extras. Otherwise overpriced and you can get better elsewhere

*** Newport Beach Location

I recently visited the new Newport Beach location and was disappointed.

Service: The cashier, a young woman with blue streaks in her hair, was rude and condescending, with behavior toward my guest that felt discriminatory. It was embarrassing and unacceptable.

Environment: The seating area felt uncomfortable due to disruptive individuals nearby, making it hard to enjoy our time.

Food: The food was excellent as always, but poor service and an unwelcoming atmosphere overshadowed it.

I hope management addresses these issues promptly.
