We've been coming here for almost 15 years and have always received amazing, friendly service. The food is that perfect mix of comfort food and traditional Mexican. The bar is a very nice place to hang out with friends but if you're there alone, the bartenders always make you feel like you're part of the family. It may not quite be a sports bar, but it's not far from it because they've always got the games on. Plus, during the summer, they open their patio bar right next to Lake Arrowhead with amazing views, great vibes, and the best margaritas on the mountain. If your looking for the best Mexican restaurant in Lake Arrowhead, you've got to check out Papagayo's.

This was my first visit to Papagayos, and unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. While the view of the lake was stunning, the food left much to be desired. The nachos tasted artificial, with cheese that had a distinctively industrial flavor, and the chips lacked freshness. The tacos, too, seemed more like they were heated in a microwave than freshly prepared. For those seeking authentic Mexican cuisine, this is not the place. Despite the great setting, the food quality was disappointing. I would recommend looking somewhere else.

EXCUSE ME YOU SHOULD NOT BE DRINKING OFF SHIFT AND GETTING INVOLVED. SHE MENTIONED SOMETHING TO WAITRESS , SHE CAME OVER VERY RUDE GIRL STARTED SCOLDING US ON RULES OFF SERVICE DOG , WE GOT UP AND WALK OUT, THANK YOU PAPAGAYOS FOR RUNING MY DAUGHTER BIRTHDAY. The food is great, however, the staff aren’t working. They socialize and talk about customers as they walk by. I saw several employees doing this. As well as the two girls in the front that look like they’re 18, are so unprofessional, again laughing and gossiping instead of working. The owners really need to focus on culture in this workplace as well as the people they decide to employ.

Absolutely loved this place! Went here based on a recommendation from someone who had been here two years ago and we were not disappointed. The food, drinks and staff were great! Our waitress Melissa was friendly, fun, engaged with our 4 year old and recommended great drink and food options.

Lady at the front counter was very rude. There was only 2 of us and that seemed to upset her, then all if a sudden she blurted out, it's a 40 min wait. Even though there were a lot of free tables and nobody waiting. It was very hot and I am handicapped and really needed to sit down. They do not even deserve the 1 star .

Horrible service starting with the hostess and her terrible attitude, the waiter brought me the wrong food kept making mistakes with my daughters plate I will not come back again food was ok but service is terrible horrible the worst

This is a cantina/pub and was exactly what I expected. I did not use the bathroom but aside from a slightly sticky table, everything appeared clean and empty tables were bused immediately. The service was swift and attentive. All the food was fresh, hot, served swiftly and arrived at the same time. The portions were generous and the plates looked like the cook enjoyed plating food. We have been out of country for three years and were jonsin' for some SOCAL Mexican food and this was perfect! We would return.
