This place completely dropped the ball. We asked for a split payment, and instead they charged the full amount to our cards without telling us. No warning. No confirmation. Just took the money and hoped we wouldn’t notice.
When we brought it up, the staff was rude and dismissive, like we were the problem for expecting basic competence. Mistakes happen — but bad attitudes and zero accountability are a choice.
Between the payment issue and how poorly we were treated, this was a frustrating and unprofessional experience. Plenty of Mexican restaurants out there that know how to handle a check and treat customers with respect. We won’t be back.

Mexican rice is easy …cook it long with love. This was hard unlike my hard shell tacos. Add juice to the meat !!! Small things are big ! You have a great location atmosphere and service! Your food needs love ! It’s horrible! Get a chef asap!!!! There everywhere in Cali!!!! A Mexican mom asap please!! Or your out of business 😔

The host that greeted us was amazing. She was so friendly and good spirits. We came in Tuesday around 6pm and there was no wait. We ordered the carne asada plate and 2 carnitas tacos a la carte. Everything was yummy. I’ve been coming to the village for over a decade and never tried Papagayos. It was better than I thought it would be. Cleanliness and service can use a little work, otherwise it was pretty good. There was someone cleaning the floors while we were eating (almost right in front of us)… I think that maybe could have waited. Our waiter was nice, but not very attentive

The service at this restaurant is so slow and the food is not worth it. It took over 30 minutes for us to get seated and another 30 for us to get our food. Sadly this is not an authentic Mexican place, or even a good restaurant. The quality of the steak plate was the worst I’ve ever seen. At the restaurant, I could barely cut the meat, however, when I re-heated at home I couldn’t cut it at all, it was all tissue/fat. We paid $85 for our 2 meals (tip included) and two drinks, not worth it at all!! Take your business elsewhere at the village
I recently ordered the soup and shrimp salad and both dishes were delicious! The soup was flavorful and comforting, with just the right amount of seasoning. The shrimp salsa was fresh, zesty, and perfectly balanced — you could really taste the quality of the ingredients. Everything was well-prepared and tasted authentic. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more items from the menu!

I wish I took photos, but I loved the very calm and tight-knit feeling of the restaurant. I’m from New Jersey and it reminded me of home. As soon as you enter there is a bar area with seating available all around. Someone will come and seat you. A lot of people will watch sports and take a sip at the bar. The shrimp tacos I ordered were *chefs kiss* 👌🏻 Bellissimo! And shoutout to Jamie for her wonderful customer service and the staff cleaning and working hard! :)

The service is good but the food is not. This is not authentic Mexican food and not even close to it. I ordered a chile relleno and it was mostly an egg. Only this piece of chile was on it. Didn’t even bother trying it because that’s not what I was expecting. A waste of money !!!
