The greatest breakfast burritos in Orange County. For those of you who miss Carmel’s on El Toro and Rockfield, you can order an Armando burrito (potato, egg, cheese, beans) at El Progreso and it tastes exactly the same. Love this place.

Love this restaurant. Been coming here for years. The food is reliably good. I really enjoy the breakfast: huevos rancheros with papitas! They make fresh corn tortillas in the restaurant and the service is always friendly. It's a mom and pop place so expect quality over thrills. The dining room is always clean and welcoming.

This place feels like time stood still. Food and service was absolutely 10 out of 10. Very clean and gives you very great feeling. If feels like you just wanna come in and have some food and cup of coffee and chat with your friends for hours if this place could talk I wonder what kind of stories would tell 100% I would recommend.

We stopped here for lunch. My wife had the taquitos and I had the Al Pastor nachos. The taquitos were good. The nachos were just what I like. Light, delicious chips and the right amount of cheese and beans. While the Al Pastor didn't appear to be cooked on a spit, it was delicious! Clarification on the atmosphere which is (again) the way I like it. No frills and clean.
Amazing food, amazing service!
They let you adapt the menu a bit so it is a great place to go as a vegan!

Just walking in here would give you a tacky feeling, but their food is very tasty. This place is the perfect example of "don't judge a book by its cover"

Authentic
Worst carne asada burrito I've ever had.It was just runny beans and cheese wrapped in a tortilla. Oh yeah there was some meat in there I guess. The hot sauce included was just basically just spicy water.

I ordered the diced ham and eggs place, it was pretty good and inexpensive. The place was dim and very run down. I was the only one in the place at 10am. The food was good.

No frills Mexican cafe that serves tasty huevos rancheros, chicken taquitos with guacamole, carnitas tacos, and big bottles of Coke. Keep in mind, El Progreso isn't fancy--very basic, blue-collar place.
Good restaurant, very friendly waitress
