Fat Fish Sushi

Server was very nice and attentive and seated me for AYCE without a reservation. I got a large Asahi and a hot sake. The sake tasted very stale and was cloudy. The flavor of the food was below average, but the worst part is the hours spent throwing up and nauseous. I ended up getting violently sick with terrible nausea that lasted into the second day.

I've basically tried all the AYCE options in the area, and Fat Fish was by far the best. Service was lovely, the fish and sushi were absolutely delicious, and sauces were incredible. It's become my instant go to spot now.

We visited FAT FISH Sushi today on December 25th (Christmas Day). After calling many places that were closed, we were so glad to find this restaurant open. The place was quiet, with no other guests at the time, but the service was very fast and attentive. The sushi was amazing — fresh, flavorful, and high quality. We truly enjoyed our visit and were very satisfied. We’ll definitely be happy to come back again!

The customer service is shockingly rude. They close at 9:00 p.m. and I arrived at 7:45 p.m. to purchase eat and enjoy the all you can eat sushi option. The lady told me no it is too late for one person to order AYCE and that only two people can do that, not one person alone. Then she proceeded to try and tell me to order what she wanted me to order. I would understand if it was like 20 or 30 minutes before closing. This was more than an hour. I won't be returning to this place after that. Anyway Kanji AYCE sushi down the road has better roll selection for ayce too.

My family and I went there the other night for all you can eat and we all got food poisoning including my 3 little kids. I will not be coming back to this place or recommend it to anyone.

I walked in right behind a family and watched as they were seated immediately—no questions asked. When I asked if we could also be seated, the woman at the front told us, “You wait 15 minutes,” and walked away, completely dismissive. I counted at least five open tables—only two were occupied with food. It was hard not to notice the difference in how we were treated versus the family ahead of us. The only difference? The way we looked. It felt like we were being judged, or even turned away, simply for being hungry while brown. No one should feel like they’re being overlooked or treated as less than because of who they are. Walked Out. This experience left a bad taste before we even got to eat.

Portion sizes for a sushi restaurant are double than what's typically served at other sushi restaurants. It was really surprising because I went in without knowing what the food was really like and I ended up getting this mountain of fresh sashimi! The sushi rice was seasoned well and the fish tasted great. They gave me a dipping sauce which I assume was a mix of yuzu, soy sauce, and sesame oil. I loved it more than regular soy sauce for my sashimi. My husband ordered a specialty roll and it was basically a futomaki, but it spanned the entire length of his torso.

I would absolutely recommend this place for its quality, excellent portion size for its price, relaxing atmosphere, and quick service.

Underestimated the portions at this place. For example I got the Golden Tiger Roll and received 9 large pieces. I also got the Baked Monster which was baked crab sushi rolls that looked like baked lasagna. Overall, the staff were nice and the food was good.

Fat fish is my go to spot! the service is great and the rolls are excellent. I have done all you can eat several times and am always satisfied with the quality and selection of sushi. I have also gotten the lake Forest in to go containers and it was nearly packaged in several boxes (and includes enough food for about 3 people).

This is the best sushi place I have ever had!!!!! And I live by the water, this place tops all of them. So grateful we found it - the only thing is now no other place compares. I used to live close but now live 20+ minutes away, still worth the drive every time!!

Thank you, Fat Sushi - you are the BEST! Perfect for Lake Forest, Laguna Niguel, Mission Viejo, San Juan Capistrano. Really anywhere around the area, because it's THAT good!
