This is the restaurant for me!

I've been going here for years due to my family living in the area. It is tradition to either go to the restaurant or get take out.

The hot mustard and sweet and sour sauces on the tables were always a highlight.

I do wish they had more vegan alternatives but they do a pretty decent job.

Highly recommend! Support local!

I have been coming here since I was 13. I'm 37 this year. We live far away now but my whole family will drive any length for just one meal here. The staff feel like aunties and remember u. The food is the best quality. Never disappoints.

Love the ladies that cook here for 20+ years & all are delicious! This is lake forest best Chinese food hands down, get over the rice ting for those that get outraged, it’s only $2.00 it’s okay splurge! I love this place!

A hidden gem. The best mapo tofu I've ever had. Don't sleep on this spot. You won't regret the visit.

This place is supposed to be among the top 10 Chinese restaurants in Lake forest. In my opinion it is in the top 10 worst Chinese restaurants anywhere. My fried rice was Stone Cold and I picked it up very very soon after I ordered. The ingredients did not seem to be fresh and the shrimp and beef and chicken were minimal. The the soup I ordered was mediocre at best. I would drive much further for much better food. Sorry but that's my opinion.

No skimping here. Ordered the house special noodle soup since the image on the menu looked good. Food in the image = food served. Service was great and so was the pricing!

For me, this is the best Chinese restaurant in Lake Forest by a long way. The food is fresh and flavorful, the staff is super nice and helpful, and orders are usually ready pretty fast. New Shanghai never disappoints. Five stars all day!
