One of my favorite restaurants in CA. I've been a regular for years. The margaritas and the Bernadette burrito are a perfect combo, I crave it anytime I come home to SD. Love La Palapa!!
I really wanted to like this place and this isn’t meant as a slam either, but I just can’t recommend it to Mexican food lovers. It was wasn’t horrible, but it was just ok and didn’t seem very authentic to us. Most disappointing was the salsa that looked amazing but was totally flavorless. A good salsa can cover a plethora of sins, but this didn’t add anything to the meal. All these glowing reviews might convince me to give it another shot down the road.
