Came here quite a few times, the fish burrito is perfect, the taquitos are perfect, I have never had a subpar dish. The owner is a very nice man who takes pride in his business, I love supporting this spot.

The food was really good and authentic! The tortilla chips were fresh. The salsa was tasty. I got the green chicken enchiladas and tried a pastor taco and both hit! You can tell they use quality ingredients. It’s worth a visit! We will definitely be back. 🙌🏼

A must try in the city of Lakewood!! Talk about fresh and flavorful! This isn't your typical mexican cuisine... This Oaxacan food at its best, full of flavor and a little spice! Met the owner and his little apprentice. Love supporting family owned and operated businesses. Take a chance stop in and give them a shot! I promise you will not be disappointed!

Went there for lunch. The cashiers were super casual. I asked if they could do a veggie quesadilla (not on the menu). I've made and eaten many many cheese, veggie, black bean, and refried bean quesadillas, and what they gave me was among the best quesadillas I've ever had. Basically they just used bell pepper, onion, some other veggies, & cheese, but it just tasted really really good. I don't know why. It should be a regular menu item tbh.
My partner got a wet carne asada burrito and also said it was great. They gave us chips for free w/the order and honestly they were extremely good.
Not much space in the store, and it's funny because the decor feels out of place. But I don't care because the food was amazing.

Had a business lunch; a place to have this meeting. I saught a little private place with good reviews. Google suggested Basil. The decision was easy. We arrived to execute this business meeting. The meeting took less than 10 minutes, all while we waited for our food. My associate could not believe the taste of the food. Question to me was where, how did you find this place. I cannot emphasize how wonderful the cuisine is in this little restaurant. It is a great representative of Oaxaca cuisine. Mexican food at its best. Yes.

In a moment of hunger, seeking something good in accord with reviews of past customers I discovered and chose Basil. I came with questions and expectations. Arriving to this small business and upon entering I felt at home. On advice from Guzman, gentleman in reception, i tried two plates. The food is delicious. The seasoning perfect. Let me just say that I am very critical of places who over use salt and other condiments, Basil's meals were phenomenal. I would gladly and due diligence recommend to my friends, family, and even to all who disagree with me to come enjoy a home style excruciatingly flavorful meal. May this little hole in the wall triumph in feeding and serving all its customers as I enjoyed my visit.
Came to have dinner at 8pm and the place was closed with a sign that said closed at 8:30 😒 dont know how they have 5 stars if they aren’t even open when they should be.
