Cozy spot for cappuccino and delicious pastries! Perfectly wrapped cookies and treats to give to someone as a gift. Beautiful!

It's been said that when you die and go to heaven it will be better than you could have ever imagined. That's how I feel about Empirio Rulli. It's got a beautiful ambiance with pastries that rival any I've had anywhere. The Custard Bombolini was so good with delicious custard like I've never had. My cappuccino was excellent. This is a must visit kind of place.

Service, almost every encounter the servers here are friendly, polite and trying to move quickly while working in an antiquated dirty environment. The shop itself has attractive features in the wood carving, glass displays and art work but it is in dire need of a good cleaning, both in the cafe seating area and the back area. The ambiance is sad, almost a feeling of giving up. While the views of the sidewalk traffic and chance to sit quietly and relax are on a weekend are so fantastic it is sobered by the lack of any investment into improving the cleanliness, aesthetics and overall age of the cafe bakery. Food and baked items are delicious but at times void of distinctive flavors, your cookie may taste the same as your apricot twist. Beverages are blank- You don't ask for a second cup. As you view over the counter you lose question your choices because the back area is in pretty bad need of attention. This place has so much potential, in a perfect spot and yet it's very much a place stuck in time and some dust. Yes, I'll go there with a friend hoping it gets rescued. It's Larkspur after all. Your only other choice is Equator which has a smelly dirty and uncomfortable interior.

The coffee drinks are great...beautiful foamy presentation, yummy, and perfect temperature. The pastries and cookies are to die for. The service is very prompt and friendly. Ambiance has a very boutiquey feel. There's a large parking lot nearby or can do street parking. Very safe area. I'm from San Jose but, I love coming here.

Recently bought their pistachio raspberry tort. It was a big hit! Little fruit tarts were good breakfast fare as well.

The black hair older woman who works at the cafe and makes coffee has such a bad attitude for working in a store front and dealing with customers. She has no clue about espresso coffee and how it should be made or drank, make a cold espresso, and after I take it back to change it, she gets so rude and tells me "If you want hot espresso wait right here"!! then she started talking about someone else's payment with a guy at the cash register and made me wait there after 6 minutes she poured the coffee out and used the same cold cup that had coffee out side and all over the rim. and slam it in front of me on the counter, I just look at it, and as I go to pick it up she says "You welcome" and walks away. Of course, the coffee was cold and undrinkable. Someone has to teach this woman how important espresso is for Italians. Never again at Rulli!

Fantastic Italian bakery with great choice of pastries, cakes, cookies and breakfast sandwiches and coffee.

Terrible experience at Rullis. I've had less than great experience before, but tried it again because my boss wanted to go there, and it was convenient to where we were at the time. I ordered the pasta special, which was ok, but that wasn't the issue. I first noticed that my fork had very dark crust built on it, gross. My boss ordered the panini and soup. After 10 minutes he received his soup and panini. I sat and waited what turned out yo be twenty minutes before I went to the counter to check on it. They told me they forgot my pasta, and mixed it up with somebody else's order. In other words, someone got/ate my pasta! They told me they would make me a new one. I waited another 10-15 min before it finally came. No apology, no offer of refunding my pasta, nothing. I will not return! They badly need some customer service training there. Beware.

This is the go-to place for any kind of pasta, lunch, but most especially desserts. I always get my birthday cakes from Rulli's and wow do my friends rave about them.

Totally classic, truly Marin and authentic place. I never eat here but I sure do put a whole lotta love on their Italian cookie section! I love love love buying a big ol' pink box of their great cookies! That and a super-potent espresso while I wait......I'm good! The service was great, clean, and prompt. The price for a box ain't' cheap, as you gotta pay for quality, and that's what you get here! Love it.

Their display look so good! Came here during my lunch for a quick fix and I just wanted to get everything. It all looks so good! I ended up getting a ham and Brie sandwich and a vanilla latte. Service was friendly and quick, I did come when there wasn't a rush. I would assume they would get one because it's such a cute place with many options. There is seating for dine in option. The place gives a vintage vibe to it. Stop by next time to check out their pastries!

I love the ambiance and food at this Italian Cafe but I have to admit that the barrista named Max is intimidating. I understand he needs to move the line but if he's going to take anyone's order he should let the customer know that he is writing the order. I thought he skipped me because I was having difficulties. I am healing from a broken foot and I was slow at ordering. He went in helping others not knowing he has written my order. I was asked by another barrista. I decided to change my order. Again, I didn't know he took my order. He should have told me. He needs to communicate that. Indeed, it's important that Max needs to slow down and be more clear with his intention. He was rather curt with me and this was the 2nd time.

One of the Best Cafe places around in Marin County . Since you walk in you get invited by their delicious desserts . So many pastries to choose from ! Most of the time in the morning is busy and sometimes there is nowhere to sit but still wait is worth it to sit and have a reflection about everything while drinking your coffee Customer service is always very friendly. What I like when I sit and drink my coffee here is the peace that I get to feel !

The coffee and the food are ok but this is not what makes Rulli special. It's the decoration and the feeling the place gives you. Return to another century of long forgotten treats and times.
