Very highly recommend this place, the food was excellent, as if we were in El Salvador! One of the few places that has atole de elote ? Customer service was phenomenal, will definitely be back whenever we visit LA.

This was the worst food I've ever had .. the rice was old , I can almost say it was spoiled .. And the soup was absolutely terrible. Definitely not fresh either. I don't recommend this restaurant whatsoever.

First and last time here! I ordered 5 pupusas and they are horrible! Taste like Taco Bell food, canned beans and fake cheese. On top of that they have no flavor! Maybe also because they do not put any meat on the filling! I basically ate a cheese and bean dry chalupa! (See picture)! I feel robbed because each one is $4 and the quality is very low. Beware! I won’t be coming back that’s for sure!P.s look at the salad! Looks like it’s been sitting for about a year! It’s old and it stinks! My spouse almost threw up! What an embarrassing establishment!

Everything has changed since they moved, the food is no longer good, the place does not have air conditioning and several dishes on the menu are stopped serving an hour before closing because they turn off the oil where they fry the food. The fruit water is not fresh the fruit looks and tastes old. And they take a long time to serve you food.

I love the food here, been here since they were in Hawthorne back in 2014. Do I say the place seems a bit outdated, yes but it's fine. Good food, and the wait stress always seem so nice.

Ordered for pick up: Pupusas Pasteles Fried yucca and chicharron I must admit I was apprehensive about ordering from here given the lackluster stars and reviews. My usual spot was closed and I literally called 6 other places on the 1st of Jan and they were all closed as well. Arcense was the only one open ... Pupusas were actually really good. Not too thick or greasy. Well, the chicharron and cheese was but that's to be expected. The beans with cheese were a FAVE! Folks were really really surprised by how good the yucca and pork was, so that was a hit too. Maybe they got a new cook or new management, who knows, but I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was.

Update- Downgraded from 5 stars...The pupusas are really good, but their hours of operation are not. Seems like you have to order 1 hour before closing or they won't attend you anymore. Also went on a Wednesday and the place was already locked up at 4:30pm.

Horrible BEWARE!! My sister ate from here Popusa and she got the Horrible food poisoning. She threw up at night so much and in the morning. Never again it’s not clean Disgusting and overpriced food. The fruit drink was disgusting as well the fruit look old. Please save yourself and eat somewhere eles. Horrible hate it here
