For being a little hamburger stand in the Eastern Sierras the food was great. They had indoor and outdoor seating. But they closed down for the winter like most businesses in the Eastern Sierras.

Yummy well-preparred, and plentiful fast food. when you're wiped from a day of hiking yosemite there's nothing better than burgers, chicken fingers, fries, onion rings, shakes, and ice cream. We may have gone a little nuts. The food is great and so is the staff. Its a charming little roadside fast food place open during the tourist season. Rewarding local business to support when you're on vacation. With the amount of hikeing we did I was happy to pound down some tasty calories too!

Trying to be objective here...this is/was the highest-rated restaurant when we drove thru from Tahoe to Yosemite. We gave it a shot... the ice cream was classic Americana soft serve, and the whole burger stand vibe really gives way to simpler times (think less corporate Dairy Queen). However, due to the isolated area and the taste, I am guessing the burger patties were frozen. The classic burger was salty, overcooked, and left me feeling ill to the stomach until it left my body. We also tried the fried fish and portions of the filet were still raw, since they were also likely frozen. The service and atmosphere were good (clean washrooms, terrace to eat on, etc), but beware if you have a weaker stomach. I just wanted to leave a transparent review for folks like us who likely picked this place over the handful of other small businesses in the area due to the high ratings

How I wished that Mono Cone was a hundred miles away! Our family goes camping in Lee Vining at least once a year. Mono Cone is a drive up quick food restaraunt. They have a small indoor area with a few tables and chairs along with some tables and chairs outside. In the past we stopped for a soft serve cone but this time we decided to have dinner there. We were so glad we did! We could have eaten there several times and been happy.
They have a petty good sized menu. I wish I'd taken a picture. They had several types of tacos, several burgers, and hot sandwiches. The young lady who took our order was super nice and so helpful. She told us what the most popular items were and she didn't steer us wrong.
We ordered a pastrami burger, a chili cheese burger, a corn dog, and two Philly cheesesteaks, some fries and afterwards we all had some soft serve cones.
The food is exactly what you want when you stop at a roadside burger and ice cream stand. The pastrami burger was delicious with the perfect amount of pastrami. The chili cheese burger was super tasty, had just enough melty cheese and needed four or five napkins! The corn dog was made on site. I'm not a corn dog person but I don't think I've ever seen a corn dog that looked so delicious. I asked if I could have a bite of it and while our grandson said I could, he ate every single bit of it Two of us ordered the Philly cheese steak sandwiches and they were so good. I'm looking forward to my trip there next year so we can eat there again.
If you're in the area stop at Mono Cone and enjoy some ice cream at the least or enjoy a meal if you have time. You won't be sorry!!
