Trying to be objective here...this is/was the highest-rated restaurant when we drove thru from Tahoe to Yosemite. We gave it a shot... the ice cream was classic Americana soft serve, and the whole burger stand vibe really gives way to simpler times (think less corporate Dairy Queen). However, due to the isolated area and the taste, I am guessing the burger patties were frozen. The classic burger was salty, overcooked, and left me feeling ill to the stomach until it left my body....
How I wished that Mono Cone was a hundred miles away! Our family goes camping in Lee Vining at least once a year. Mono Cone is a drive up quick food restaraunt. They have a small indoor area with a few tables and chairs along with some tables and chairs outside.
In the past we stopped for a soft serve cone but this time we decided to have dinner there. We were so glad we did! We could have eaten there several times and been happy.
