When seeking an East County brunch option for contactless delivery, Annas Family Restaurant is a great neighborhood pick for a comforting diner-style breakfast or hearty lunch. We had an convenient time placing our delivery order by DoorDash, and you can also order online directly on their website. I was craving a lighter savory breakfast, and their short stack combo hit the spot. They have a few selections for smaller appetites, which I appreciated for my usual orders. That said, they definitely don't skimp on the portions. My fiance opted for the bacon cheeseburger -- great beef patty and fresh ingredients -- and it came with a fantastic portion of seasoned fries. A personal downside of delivery/takeout on the trip home: the cheeseburger's bottom bun ended up sogging up by arrival, due to being stacked on the lettuce in its container. Just another reason why we all can't wait for "normal" dine-in again; I would also love to see more sustainable/recyclable packaging for our takeout age, rather than styrofoam. Can't wait to dine-in in their super cute location! Lots of variety on their menu, so there's something for the entire family! A dependable homestyle restaurant when you are looking to support San Diego/East County small businesses.

If you want some homestyle cooking visit Anna's in Lemon Grove. Nice size portions and great courteous service .. never disappointed. Breakfast lunch and dinners .. all great .. good place for catfish dinners fried right! Try it you'll like it!

now that i’m here, i’ve discovered that the menu options online are different than their actual menu they give you there. i looove grits!!! online grits is a sides menu option. it’s also one of the three items to choose from when ordering a breakfast meal. ordering inside gave me the option to pick up & go somewhere else because there was no grits anywhere on their menu. bummer, a whole trip here for nothing, im thinking. then my friend called me back into the diner letting me know that they do serve grits. that whirlwind threw me for a loop. shoooch. im gonna taste the food & update shortly. 5 mins later & sll i have to say is...no, i will not be coming back here. i don’t like watery grits. & seasoning unless stated that a diabetic order etc. is necessary. period

COVID CHECK ! I know some that came here to pick up a pie for DOORDASH. the waitress ( older woman ) was so rude. She said there are no pies left we threw them away because we aren't busy...BUT ......THEY HAD PEOPLE DINING IN. The waitress was NOT wearing a mask and others as well.....so the doordash order was cancelled.

Please save your money. This establishment has the rudest old waitress, not too mention my food was cold and as dry as the waitress' attitude. I ordered pancakes and eggs and when I asked for utensils and syrup she ignored me. I proceeded to ask again and got snapped at by said waitress. She told me that she didn't have time for this and that next time I wanted "extras" I needed to order them. Please do not eat here!

My local restaurant but not much good i can say about it except how remarkable it is the owner manages to keep it open. Very old, unkept, unimproved and uninteresting. Never had a meal there I wanted to order again. Really I dont know how they are still open except maybe people like me trying to support local businesses.
