Best chicken and waffle place in San Diego. I'm so sad that they've been closed! Hope they open soon because we've gone to a few other places and they don't compare to this place. Prices are reasonable and you get your money's worth. Staff was always so kind and on it. Miss this place so much!

Yummy and very reasonably price. Friend ordered from their bbq place next door and we enjoyed our food outside. Expect to wait 10-15 minutes because good food takes awhile. Support local businesses!

No need to go to LA to Roscoes for chicken and waffles This place has the same and to me the waffles here has more flavor and the chicken is seasoned just right I will definitely be coming back.

First time was perfect. Fresh crunchy well seasoned but not over seasoned. Beautiful color, crunch, and juicy meat inside. A hit with the family all the way around. Second time a woman answered the phone placed me on a brief hold. Never came back I had to hang up, and call back the Melanin King with the pretty eyes answered. As he did the first time gave me excellent customer service and hot fresh delicious food. The other woman needs customer service training and professionalism. A customer shouldn't be forgotten about.

I rarely leave reviews for businesses unless they are extremely bad or extremely good and let me tell you, Da Chicken Coop is extremely good. The chicken here is unmatched by most other chicken places and today I ordered a two piece chicken strips with fries and they gave me three strips. It was a wonderful surprise.

Rather disappointed in the food. My order came incorrect and burnt. Not sure if I'll be buying from here again. They were running a promo of buy one meal (4 piece and a side) and get one free..... tell me why I only received 4 chicken strips and that was it.

Off the beaten path restaurant where the chicken lives up to its name. It's moist on the inside and crunchy on the outside. A little salty for my taste but I guess that's what makes it tasty. I also ordered a side of okra but was disappointed to see that it's just like Church's okra, which I like anyway, but took a star off for that. The seasoned fries were yummy (again, a bit salty but still good!). I would definitely come here again once my blood pressure gets back to normal . Cashier was very sweet and efficient.

First time I went here I witnessed a rat run up a woman's skirt,but that's not gonna stop me from saying how good the food was the waffles were the perfect size for the chicken tendies,it had alot of flavor in it and was good the first time cause I never ate waffles with anything else on it.Would go here again to try the rest of the menu
Excellent fried chicken. Excellent wings. This place is a hidden gem. My only complaint is that they have such limited hours. We can never order for dinner.

Stop reading and just go get some chicken! I go here at least once a week, sometimes more. My go-to is a chicken sandwich with fries, but I've tried about half the menu by now. Honestly the chicken sandwich puts a certain chain to SHAME and the seasoning on the fries is amazing. The catfish nuggets and chicken tenders are my husband's favorites. The lemonade is delicious and fresh. Plus the owner is just so incredibly kind.

This establishment has got to be one of the best places I've ordered from with catfish that is actually seasoned and fried correctly. This catfish taste like the catfish my grandparents use to make when they were alive. The fish is fresh, not over seasoned, or overcooked. It was spectacular. I wish I had some more. The prices are meh, but to me the food is worth it. I wasn't a big fan of the fries or the chicken, but they were ok for add ons. The packaging was also great and had no spilled items. My mom ordered gizzards and catfish fillets and she said she loved everything! We will be coming back here!

This was my second time come ordering from Da Chicken Coop. I arrived right at opening and ordered. I was advices of a wait for my waffles (no problem) once I received everything I was on my way. The chicken was immaculate, very well seasoned, crispy and juicy. This time around the waffle was a little dry. I could eat their chicken all day everyday

I should have ordered chicken and waffles. I ordered the shrimp basket. Just not my thing. There is a dry grit coating that I just couldn't tolerate. I just wanted something new. I will stick to the chicken here.
