Quite possibly the best BBQ I have had in quite sometime! Friends & Family were craving BBQ and chose this new place that recently opened. It's always good to try new places & new flavors. We were immediately greeted by several staff members with warm smiles. Wow, I was impressed with how good the BBQ and sides were (And my hometown is Kansas City) so that's a lot to say, including their sauce! By the way I then noticed they are known for Kansas City style BBQ. I thank the staff for their excellent customer service. Much to our surprise, a staff member came over and offered us complimentary cheesecake - and it was yummy! The Barn House BBQ is a "Must Have" whenever in town & craving some tasty food, service & restaurant atmosphere, as I felt I was actually in Kansas City - Cheers!

The service and food were excellent. My friend had a medical emergency and they were so helpful. We loved the food. The restaurant is clean and handicap accessible. Do yourself a favor, go try them out.

Great place for ribs. Giant portions. Good sides. Plenty of parking. Good options for ribs

I had high hopes for this new restaurant which has been several things since we moved to Lemon Grove. I'm not sure why they decided Italian or Bbq would be a great addition since our neighborhood already had 2 great restaurants of each variety, but we decided to give it a whirl. Service is very efficient and friendly! Decor is very cute! The pulled pork sandwich ordered by my companion looked very tasty, however my choices were quite disappointing. I don't feel either item was actually smoked, grilled or bbq'd in any way. They didn't have any char, or fat rendered off. The wings were rubbery which I just can't eat. The habanero sauce was nothing like what it is supposed to be: sticky, sweet and hot. The Mac n cheese tasted like total processed cheese and the pork belly was also not cooked enough or even broiled on the exterior. Bbq is an art. A craft, not just cooking in the oven and slapping some sauce on. Hard pass for me

Little hidden gem in lemon Grove. The BBQ is so well done, smokey tender meats and the baked beans are amazing.

When you walk in, it smells amazing. Unfortunately, none of that smokey flavor was in the food. Everything was extremely bland, chicken very dry, prices are outrageous and overall disappointing.

This place blew my mind... I love the ambience w/ a very smoke house feel and a game room. They have a few beer on tap and most in bottle. The food was excellent. We got a family dinner and found all the side and smoked meats were really good. The service was great. Definitely a must try

I am always looking for BBQ places as it is one of my favorite foods. Let me compare this place to a few BBQ restaurants in the area. This place is way better than Coops in LG in every way, food, price and service. I would say the beef and pork ribs at the Barn are on a par with Phil's, tender and tasty. None of these places are as good as Tony Roma's however, whose ribs are an excellent 9 out of 10. The sides we had were fries (they are coated) and coleslaw which you need to put the ranch dressing and pepper on. The BBQ chicken is lathered in BBQ sauce. To be done correctly, the flavor should be smoked into the chicken like THE BBQ Pit does, and you do not have to make the chicken swim in BBQ sauce. Speaking of THE Pit, go there if you want a 10 out of 10 on your pork ribs, beef ribs, BBQ beef and ham, brisket; chicken, hot links, fries, bean or pea soup. The only thing I do not give a 10 at The BBQ Pit is the pie, but it is still quite good. Back to Barn House. We will actually go back to get the beef ribs, as they are nearly as good as the BBQ Pit's. We will bring them home and make our own sides. Also the Pepsi at the Barn house needed the syrup turned up on the premix machine. It was a bit watery. I told the staff there and they said they would look into it (I used to work for Pepsi). The sauce at the Barn is a bit sweet and they should try to mimic the sauce as The BBQ Pit as it is thinner and has a hint of apple cider vinegar and has a very slight kick to it, like one of the ingredients was a touch of Louisiana hot sauce. The staff was very friendly and the service was excellent, no waiting. Our food came within 10 minutes of ordering, and was piping hot. For ambience, they have a game room off to the side with 2 pool tables, a Foosball table, and multiple arcade games. Everyone appeared to be having a great time there. In summation we will be coming back for the beef ribs and the service, but that is all.

Stopped by to play some pool and grab a bite. Very happy we stopped by. The service was great. Very welcoming and made sure we had a good time Lots of room for big groups. They have a new game room lots of activities to hangout and watch a game. Very well decorated. I ordered a non-alcoholic watermelon margarita, very refreshing. We also grabbed food, I ordered the tacos and they were all very yummy. Came with a pickle which was interesting. Parking was easy they are located in a plaza with a lot of parking.

Cost: 83 for 3 sodas and medium family combo plate with onion rings & beans. Pro: nice clean interior, game room in back with 2 pool tables, foosball, 3 arcade games, outdoor patio with space heaters. Owner is nice. Roll of paper towels on each lacquered table. Serves alcohol. Con: when one walks into a BBQ joint, one expects to smell BBQ. This place had NO bbq smell and their 2 outdoor grills were off & cold. You won't know they are there in the parking lot unless you looked. Like other bbq places you fill your own fountain drink (they carry Pepsi products) and are given plastic utensils. You are given a buzzer that will annoyingly go off when your order is ready and are not always shut off timely. Platter came with 2 beef ribs, half a chicken, pork ribs & onion rings. The truly sad part aside from no BBQ smell, this meat platter had NO FLAVOR. It was the texture and look of meat but zero flavor. The chicken looked dry but seemed juicy when I took a stab at it. Basically it appeared by smell taste and texture this was oven done. BBQ sauce is the standard what you buy in the store given to you in 2 ounce disposable cups. Beans were watery. No bread. Possible old oil used with the onion rings. In the possibility I just ordered wrong my SIL got us both options for dessert that is not included in the above cost listed. Chocolate mousse cake which was meh. And the lemon meringue cheesecake. That had a great brûlée on it but the lemon was a smear and a thick plain cheesecake that overpowered the entire dessert. Bottom line: will not return.

Our greeter/server Natalia was super nice and helpful! The beef & pork ribs were delicious! So was the chicken and pork belly bits in our salad. All meats on the bone were extremely tender, juicy, and fell off the bone easily. The beans were uniquely spiced and we enjoyed them. The cole slaw is very fresh in a light dressing not gooey mayo water. We plan to return and order out from here! ??

Place is huge. Cool game room in the back. I tried the 4 bone beef rib with fries and onion rings. Onion rings had a crunchy panko style batter. Lots of fried batter flavor with a mild onion flavor. Reminds me of Jack in the Box onion rings. Fries were crispy and had a nice seasoned flavor. Beef ribs were falling off the bone tender. Liked the smoky flavor from being smoked in almond and mesquite wood. Liked the sweet sauce caramelized on the ribs. 2nd visit I tried a rack of pork ribs with sweet potato fries. Sweet potato fries were crispy on the outside and had mild sweet potato flavor. Rack of pork ribs was a huge meal and I only ate half. Smoky aroma and flavor from smoking was mouth watering. There was also some sweet brown sugar and molasses caramelized on the ribs that resulted in a delicious flavor. Pork was juicy and fall off the bone tender. Website says they make Kansas City style bbq here. The only other place I know of making Kansas City style bbq is Kansas City Bbq. This place has better ribs but I prefer the onion straws they had at Kansas City Bbq. Beef ribs were very good but the pork ribs were among the best I've had. Loved the smoky flavor from smoking in almond and hickory wood. Staff was friendly and orders didn't take too long.

This place has great potential. First when you walk in it smells like the most delicious smokey bbq and it's AMAZING! Was very excited and it actually made me hungrier. The service was wonderful and the employees were very friendly and kind. We ordered the Pulled Pork sandwich w/fries, Chicken Sandwich w/Mac n Cheese, one beer and a margarita. $63 HOLY CRAP! I do not recommend the chicken, it was extremely dry and flavorless. The pork was tender but also had no flavor and none of the BBQ had that smokey taste that i smelled earlier. I actually enjoyed their BBQ sauce and slathered the sandwich in it which did make it better. Fries were great, but I didn't pay $63 for Fries... Mac n Cheese was creamy and tasty but obviously some processed velveta cheese substitute, which I love but again $63??!! This place needs some improvement on their recipes and a possible happy hour menu in the future. We are 20% likely to try them again in a few months to see if it's improved. Besides that glad we tried it, but don't want to eat here again.
