Lobster was stringy and dry, food overall was disappointing. The prices were out of this world! 2 people $271 and they factored in some sort of convenience fee? And then wanted an additional tip for the servers.

I absolutely love Cajun food I’ve bee here a few times and it never disappoints. It’s always crowded but this is a good sign. Fried fish batters are amazing and the steam rice bowls. My daughter loved the garlic fries this was definitely a cheat day on food for me, will be coming back!

It was busy, but we didn’t have any trouble getting beers and a bag of delicious hot seafood right away. We decided to try the garlic and butter flavor and our server informed us it was literally just garlic and butter. I got the bayou flavor in a cup on the side, and it’s a really nice alternative to having it in the bag. Especially because I shared the bag with someone that didn’t want any hot spice.

Pretty nice personable bar type setting with some seats off to the side for some more one on one nights.

Best snow crab in East Bay I usually get the Snow Crab Backyard style mild and it is packed with flavor. The clam chowder here is amazing as well.Parking: It’s a whole shopping center so there’s plenty of parking.Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly menu optionsWheelchair accessibility: Yes it’s wheel chair accessible

4 star for the food bc the lobster meat was a bit overcooked and chewy. Still good. I actually finished the whole roll.I also ordered the Cajun fries.I’d come back to try their boil.

Other than all the grease the crab fries are worth trying. The lobster Mac and cheese comes with a small portion of lobster as you'd expect from most restaurants. I like the backyard sauce and I also, like that they actually use a good amount of garlic in their food.

Brought my cousin here for a birthday lunch and the experience was okay. The atmosphere is a little off as far as lighting and coolness. We sat near the entrance and to the right of us next to the bar is an area that just looks herrondous. It's a pile of old furniture thrown to the side (extremely tacky) ??.Food wise, the wings (dry rub) were actually good and calamari. The fries seem over cooked, hard in texture. The crab fries were good and edible because of the sauce and moisture from the crab topping. My crab roll was tasteless. Like I took one bite and gave it to my lunch date to take home my lunch. It had no flavor what so ever. The server said their crab is just mixed with mayo (a Japanese brand). There was no butter or garlic or anything to make this expensive crab roll worth a bite. Would I ever come back or recommend this place?... NO‼️

When I went to Backyard Bayou on Friday, there was free Garlic Noodles served with any bucket purchase. Our family ordered a Bayou Bucket and free Garlic Noodle that were good enough for a family three. Good tastes and portion.Lobster MAC&Cheese is also good.

Decent Cajun seafood. We used to only go to boiling crab but this place is just as good.

The rating is low because of my issue. My first time going there I ordered to go. I asked for a king crab boil with three extra eggs as I was told that it only came with one I also got Crabby fries. When I received my order I realized the bag was light so I asked the guy that took my order like where's the potatoes, shrimp, corn, sausage etc he told me of that comes in a bucket. I told him I was unaware of that most of the places I've been when I order a crab boil everything is included if you want extra you pay for it he says my bad I asked him could I get the rest added in I'll pay the difference he said the kitchen is closed I was the last order of the night. I feel like for a customer like myself coming in spending next to a hundred dollars of my hard earned money on the holiday and leaving a 18% tip that he could have made an effort to accommodate me. I should have asked for a manager but I was in a hurry later I found out that they charged me for three extra eggs and there were only three in the bag if it comes with one and you guys charge me for three and I don't even get the free one it comes with is ridiculous. Good tasting food but the service at that moment wasn't on point. I'm not from California so l like to eat at different places often hopefully something can be done ASAP about this.

Backyard Bayou is a flavor explosion! ?? I've been a loyal customer for years, and the flavors always leave my taste buds dancing. My go-to combo of calamari, shrimp, rice, corn, and potatoes never disappoints. ?? Today, we ventured into clams and oysters territory—delicious!Situated conveniently by the movie theatre, this spot stands out among other nearby restaurants. ? Despite the competition, Backyard Bayou remains my ultimate go-to when I’m in Union City. ?
