I use to come here as a teenager when I lived in town for a year or 2 and I can honestly say Ive moved all across the country and lived in big cities and this place tops any burger joint I've been to. The customer service is emasculate. Its a dainty little shop in an empty lot but its if not the best comfort food ive ever had. I craved it so bad when I was pregnant in Chicago and almost bought a ticket just to have some. I dont buy mushroom burgers from anywhere else because i know it wont be up to par. parparwith bens. 4 years later and its almost exactly the same and tastes the same. I will always break the bank when i come because it's just that good.

Okay, truth be told I have driven by this place and not given it the attention it deserves. There was a recent article about having the best fries in the bay area, which I read at the dental office. So of course, I'm at the dental office with my twin 14 yo boys and say we need to check it out! The burgers (according to teen boys) were as good as "In and Out".. hmmm, LOL, and I got the Veggie burger which seemed to be a black bean patty which I prefer, so well done on burgers all around. My kids want to come back, mostly because we are really comparing prices with fast food right now, otherwise I do all cooking at home. It's gotten so expensive! We felt for the price, getting super thick, yummy milkshakes, 3 burgers, family fries and small onion rings, it was similar in price to In and Out without the family fries, meaning, it's a WAY better deal and the food was good! Why the 4 stars? Well, I do love my fries. I don't eat meat but hate a greasy taste. The fries were indeed crisp and hot on the outside, but the inside was like letting a grease bucket flow. I tried them super hot, and then hot, and then cooler. I liked them better a little cooler but still crispy on the outside, seemed super greasy on the inside. I know, they are fries, but felt kind of like a sponge full of grease with some crispiness to me, and I literally came for "the best fries". So, don't come for the fries, come for the burgers and very kind attentive service at a very fair price. We will be back, but will stick to crispy onion rings that were amazing!

Food was okay, shakes were excellent but Friday night way too busy with a line out the door and long wait time once ordered and no custom orders allowed (my husband wanted onions, tomato and lettuce on the side and they told us to remove those ourselves). We went there based on recommendations it was the best burgers in Livermore, not sure about that.

I grew up frequently dining here. It's my favorite little gem in Livermore. It's been good ever since the beginning and I love when I get the chance to visit. Highly recommend! The Ben's burger is my absolute fave!

Great little hole-in-the-wall type of restaurant. I'm surprised that I have not been here after frequently passing by after visiting the nearby park and library. The burgers we ordered were delicious: hot, fresh and perfectly cooked. Service was a bit spotty but we did visit on a weekend night while they were slammed. It did get crowded at one point with the line going out the door. So, if you are planning to dine here, try to come during off-hours or there may be a wait for the tables. Will be back to try the sandwiches and other food!

So happy I found Ben’s! I love a traditional style burger which is why I tried them to begin with. The burger was fresh and yummy and just had that nostalgic touch that is so hard to find. The balance of meat, veg and bun was spot on. Excellent bun and meat was flavorful. Good, old fashioned fries and sincere service. Did I mention the prices are awesome?
