Awesome place to get fresh fish and a great conversation. Sake flights are solid, too.

Cured is a true gem! This is a small, intimate restaurant with an excellent eye for detail and quality. The owners, Franny and Joe are culinary and service experts, and put so much effort into creating memorable dining experiences. The cuisine is Japanese adjacent with a west coast twist. I loved the halibut sashimi. It was dressed with extra virgin olive oil, and this really brought out the fat of the halibut and was so savory and balanced. Go treat yourself! <3

Now this is the most scrumptious food I have ever received! I can tell those two owners are putting time and dedication into those meals, presentation, and service! First off, all of their food is all local, organic, and layered with flavor. Secondly, the time and effort they put into the place is quite extraordinary! I'm definitely coming back to eat and see the wonderful staff!

Modern restaurant with a fish bar concept. Beer was expensive light tapas style dishes. The small Cesar salad was good.

One of my favorite restaurants! I’ve eaten here many times and Chef Joe creates some of the most flavorful dishes I’ve ever tried. There’s a magical combination of Japanese influence in the flavor with many locally sourced ingredients. I love the fun European style of shared plates and smaller dishes - dining here always feels exciting and fresh. I always leave here feeling inspired by the food, light because the quality of the ingredients are fresh and healthy, and joyful because the vibe in the restaurant is clean and relaxed! All the chefs make eating at the fish bar a great night. The service is exceptional and everyone that works there is approachable and knowledgeable. Franny (the co-owner) is the queen of sake! Highly recommend. One of the most exciting restaurants in the Bay Area and a very welcome (NEEDED) addition to Livermore.

Great experience overall! This is a late review as we visited August 1st to celebrate 1 of our birthdays (today's 8/15). We had a variation of oysters, uni toast with amazing toppings, cajun potatoes with roe, mushrooms with egg yolk, smoked fish and 2 sparkling waters. Absolutely LOVED it all! The staff was friendly and attentive. Gave good recommendations and if we could give a higher review, we would. Lastly... BOMB music and ambiance. We'll definitely visit again. We unfortunately forgot photos as we were really engaged with the experience.
This is a new little restaurant that combines Western and Japanese seafood into some really fantastic dishes, in a cute little space nestled between other great food places in a tiny plaza. Overall we had a fantastic time, and will definitely be returning. The food tasted great, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the staff were all friendly and helpful.
Top 3 takeaways:
- The Dayboat Scallops were amazing. If there's one dish that we had that should become a "signature" dish for the restaurant, it's that one. The scallops were soft and tender, the flavors were perfect, and the yuzu sauce added a nice tartness that didn't overpower, especially combined with the olive oil. (We asked for spoons to clear the plate with after the scallops were eaten!)
- The presentation of everything was beautiful (in addition to being delicious). We took photos of everything because it all looked so good we wanted to remember it.
- The sake flight I had was great; all the sakes were light and smooth, but still had distinct flavors and paired well across all the seafood dishes
Things that weren't quite to my personal preferences/tastes:
- The breads used for the Uni and Tuna Tartare dishes were too crispy with how delicate the seafood was. It was tough to appreciate the buttery flavor of the Uni with how crunchy the bread was. Similarly, the tuna tartare was on a tasty sourdough crisp, that while delicious masked the flavor of the tuna itself since it had a very strong sourdough taste, and was much crunchier than the very soft tuna itself. I would have preferred the seafood be more forward on those dishes, personally.
- Just as general recommendations, it would be nice to have an indication of how much of each dish is provided on the menu so we can plan for sharing and order enough. For example, we didn't know that the uni dish was a single-bite, and we had to cut it in half to feed two people.
- We also noticed that it got very loud very quickly in the small space as soon as a louder group came in, and would recommend putting something to help dampen the acoustics, like some wooden structure or something to disperse the acoustic reflections.
This place is extremely impressive for a new restaurant with a really cool, unique menu that changes all the time with the availability of different ingredients. Despite me having some personal preferences regarding a few of the dishes, everything was delicious and we really enjoyed the meal!
I'll 100% be going back for more and seeing what the chefs and staff prepare in the future! (And next time will be trying some of their oysters/mussels which looked amazing!)
Parking: The parking lot for the plaza the restaurant is in has very limited parking and it can be tough to find a spot there, but there is street parking in the area around it, or you could use the parking garage that is about a block away and walk to the restaurant.

I recently visited Cured Fish Bar in Livermore with my family, and it was an outstanding experience! Their happy hour special is truly amazing, especially the fresh oysters paired perfectly with a crisp white wine. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it an ideal spot for a relaxing evening. The staff was friendly and attentive, adding to the overall delightful experience. We'll definitely be back!

Excellent service, very attentive and can speak to all items on the menu. For only being open for about 4 months, you can tell they came up to speed quickly and have a good system down. Notable items were the scallop crudo (best thing I’ve eaten in a while), potatoes with creme fresh/smoked salmon roe and the maitake mushrooms. Need to try oysters and halibut next time. Price point is fairly high but where else are you going to get flowers on a massive raw scallop with some yuzu in this area? Thanks for a memorable birthday dinner!
