Emil Villa's Hickory Pit

I hadn't been to Emil Villa's in a few years because I moved out of the bay area but was back for a visit. I wanted some of their ribs and a grilled crab sandwich. What a disappointment... the sandwich was not grilled, it was toasted and had not much flavor. I took most of it home to doctor it up. Ribs also, the best part of the ribs was the BBQ sauce and the sauteed veggies. I was very sad to see that the place in Livermore was moving but maybe they'll get more business that way. We went on a Sunday afternoon about 2:00 pm, the place was empty. Emil Villa's is gone. It's very sad.

I was amazed. The food was excellent. The employees are so kind, attentive, and friendly. I was there with a group and I had never been to Emil Villa's ever. I thought Emil's wouldn't be my kind of place. I usually eat vegetarian cuisine, Indian food, Thai food, Chinese food... I haven't cooked meat for years, for example. The ribs at Emil's have to be tried. You'll love them. The coleslaw is excellent too The peach cobbler was a little too sweet, but I will come here once a month if I can. I'll send others too!

Been going here for years. Dine in service was good. Take out was just okay and the last to go order took 45 minutes and they got it wrong 4 times and that last we did not find out until we arrived home. Quite disappointed.

We sat inside and loved the classic diner atmosphere. Very friendly and welcoming service. I appreciated my coffee and water refills. Everything we had was great. I would definitely get the chicken fried steak again. The gravy was homemade and delicious. Easy parking. Clean bathrooms.

My coworker and I just came for breakfast the service was the worst!!!! Sign said wait to be seated no one came and some one yelled from the back office to seat ourselves. We ordered our food and it took over 30 minutes to come. I had to ask for more water and napkins. My county potato were burnt, my coworkers biscuits were cold and old. When trying to pay staff was just looking at us and wouldn’t help. The place had just opened and it wasn’t busy for us to be treated like that. NEVER AGAIN!!!

The cole slaw is my favorite. We had ribs, baby back and Emil. They were both good, but the Emil was a dry rub and a bit chewy.

Dine in breakfast with family. Greeted, seated, and ordered in a timely fashion. Food was great with repeated offers for refills on beverages. Friendly staff, clean dining area. A good time had by all!

the new owner was very nice and the food and service was amazing ? we will definitely be telling family friends about restaurants going back today !!!! we got the platter and share and got the chef salad and a side of a cup of chili it was incredible was very happy and we got dessert pecan pie and cheesecake was amazing not to sweet u can actually enjoy the whole thing for urself lol ? if ur up for the challenge u won a loyal customer for life i love that this restaurant is family owned!!! now with new owners
