Locanda Wine and Bar in Livermore is, without a doubt, my go-to restaurant for celebrating special occasions. I have visited multiple times, and every single experience has turned out to be excellent. The restaurant consistently delivers high-quality service and an atmosphere that truly enhances the meal. The ambience is lovely, making it ideal for a relaxing evening, whether you choose to sit inside or outside (both options offer a great dining experience). The Food: Simply Awesome The food here is consistently awesome. You can’t go wrong, but based on my many visits, here are the absolute must-try dishes: • Wine Selection: Always start with a bottle of wine—their selection is fantastic and perfectly complements the menu. • Fritto Misto: A perfectly crisp and flavorful starter. • Calamari: Tender and expertly fried. • Gemelli Sausage Pasta: Rich, satisfying, and a true comfort dish. • Lasagna: Traditional, hearty, and layered with flavor. • Salmon Ravioli: A unique and delicate pasta dish that is a standout. Visited Locanda Wine Bar in Livermore on Friday night and had a great experience. The atmosphere was lively yet relaxed perfect for a night out. I had the penne vodka with chicken, which was absolutely delicious, and the drinks were just as good. The staff was attentive and friendly, and everything came out quickly. Definitely one of the better spots in Livermore for good food, great drinks, and a comfortable vibe. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Our waiter, Luigi was outstanding- very informative and friendly. The cocktails were delicious and Locanda has a lovely and extensive wine list. My boyfriend enjoyed his gnocchi and I loved my pollo piccata- especially the mashed potatoes!

The food was excellent for this wine dinner. I thought is was strange that we were served 2 pasta dishes. They were good, but the braised short rib was very sparse in the tortellini pasta. Personally, I would have preferred a salad with 1 pasta dish and a small beef dish to pair with the red wine. The wines were all excellent.
Sad to write this review. I'll start by saying the food is amazing. Some of the best gnocchi I've ever tried. The sad part is the service. We sat for about 20 minutes before we got greet on a slow day. Once I looked around for a manager someone did quickly come to take our order. We asked our waitress for some Parmesan cheese and it just never arrived. No big deal, the food didn't need it after all. We then asked for dessert and got the wrong order. Kind of frustrating but they fixed the order. We got offered caramel vodka shots for the inconvenience.... there was lipstick stains on the shot glass. Now, the service was no good but it wasn't enough for me to say I'll never come back. What made this visit really disappointing was the 3% we were forced to pay that contributes into the staff's healthcare and benefits. I understand what the charge is, but I don't understand why I have to pay for it. I'm already tipping our waitress. Also, what's my guarantee that money is actually going towards those benefits and not just being pocketed. Interestingly enough, our waitress didn't drop off the receipt. She charged me on her device showing the total and I had to ask for an itemized receipt.
Again..... food is amazing. The best. But the decisions leadership has made in this establishment will be its downfall.

We absolutely love Locanda, however, our service last night was not good. I took into account that restaurant was really busy but we were a table of 6 and it felt like because the tip is automatic on large tables the attention to us was sub par, unfortunately.

It’s a nice atmosphere but the food needs a lot of work. We got the penne alla vodka and it tasted like it was straight from a jar. Pasta wasn’t al dente either. Not what I expected from an Italian owned restaurant. I get so excited when I see authentic Italian chefs opening restaurants but this definitely didn’t seem authentic Italian.
Great vibe - go for an aperol spritz or a glass of wine only

My wife and I have been to Locanda in Livermore several times as well as some of their other locations and thus far this is the best we have experienced. We brought a couple of friends with us and we all loved the food, drinks and ambiance. The service was good and the wine, beer and spritzers we had were wonderful. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and two pizzas which more than filled us. We'll be back soon as will our friends who we brought with us. Try it you'll like it!

Third one I visited unique take on the whole outdoor experience of a wine bar. Good vibes. Great staff inside or outside seating? Excellent food. The other ones are great. This one has a different vibe. Great for a Friday night. Get together with friends. Bring outdoor voice! :)
