This place was great while it was open, but sadly the owners said they were going out of business. It's permanently closed as of Dec 2019, and the building is empty.

Hi - We love this restaurant and are so bummed it has closed. We spoke to someone at the grocery store nearby and they said the owners were going to find a new location. Does anyone have any updates or additional information? Thanks!

I celebrated my PhD earlier this evening in this great place. I am glad to say that we passed a superb evening and the restaurant was clearly one of the reasons for this strong meeting. The crew helped in a sweet manner, the food was great and my guests were very overjoyed. We shall definitely come back again for more events. thanks very much.

Family dinner out last night. We have eaten here at this restaurant for years. My favorite is the walnut prawns and Broccoli beef. Also the lemon chicken is good to. I'm sad since this restaurant is closing due to the lot going to be developed for housing. Ben'd burgers and the rest of the building's will be torn down for a housing development. Only the gas station, pine street bar and grocery store to remain. Last day of business is Dec. 31st.

This place is a hidden gem. Best Chinese food in Livermore, hands down! The service is amazing and Judy one of the owners is a sweetheart. Please do yourself a favor and try this place out.

I have been going to Oceanic restaurant for several years and each time I have had wonderful experiences. I have referred a number of people there who have commented that it's the best Chinese food in the Tri-Valley. I have tried a wide range of items and was pleased with virtually every dish. I was intrigued by one of the reviewers comments that said it was awful and went on and on about the bad food. It was interesting that this particular reviewer has left a total of 46 Yelp reviews 22 of which are one star along with several two-star reviews. Apparently, he has a very hard time finding a place that meets his expectations.. Do not be swayed by this negative review, and give Oceanic a try. The owner is lovely, attentive, and does her best to accommodate. While the place doesn't have much atmosphere, and I usually take my food out, I've eaten there several times and found it to be no frills, but clean.

Although I have yet to actually eat at the restaurant itself. My family has ordered delivery (free with $25 order) multiple times and have never been disappointed. Love the Kung Pao Prawns, orange chicken and crab rangoons. This particular rave is for the Hunan Beef (I order it extra spicy). This is my new favorite and something I have not found at other Chinese restaurants. Beef is nicely tender and crispy and the flavor of the garlic and spice it amazing. I love to mix it with their vegetarian chow mien. This is definitely our go to Chinese takeout place in Livermore!

Absolutely disgusting. Ask my wife, she'll tell you that I'll eat anything, good or bad. But not this. I couldn't. I ordered the Oceanic Fried Rice and Mongolian Beef. The Fried rice was ok. Not a lot of flavor, but edible with Sriracha. The Mongolian Beef on the other hand...Ho. Lee. S**** That was bad. I'm pretty sure the beef had gone bad before they cooked it. It was definitely "off" My wife told me, "if it's so bad, stop eating it!" I said I had to eat it because it's so freaking expensive I don't want to waste it. She then reminded me that we have a 4th of July BBQ we're going to tomorrow and I can't miss it because of food poisoning. I ended up throwing the rest out. Probably a good thing, too because I think I feel something churning in my stomach... Only eat here if you've cleared your calendar for the next few days.

New Oceanic Restaurant is at the far corner of a single building commercial space. decor is dated but clean. empty during time i was there. offerings: usual chinese menu eats: cashew chicken brocculi, lunch (7.25) -oyster sauce flavored with tender chicken, so so cashew nuts -brown rice in lieu of white rice -hot & sour soup very hot, tasted authentic when cooled. as good as available in northern chinese eateries. fabulous taste, value 4ish stars. leftovers: -shopping center in downturn, most storefronts empty.
