This place is permanently closed, but replaced with a new Thai place: Ros Ni Yom
Thai Chef is closed. Too bad, I really liked this place. Sign on door says
I haven't actually tried this restaurant, but it's not for a lack of trying. I went one day around 10:45 and it was closed (despite Yelp hours saying it's open). Then I went another day, a Friday, at both 11:15 and 11:45 and it was closed. No sign or anything explaining why. Since the third time wasn't the charm, I won't keep trying, but disappointing cause it looks good.
Relatively new, and fantastic. We buy takeout here at least once a week -- great food, large portions. The gal who runs the place (often by herself, though her Mom was visiting and helping out today) is really friendly. Starting and running a small business is shockingly hard -- so many things that can go wrong when you least expect it. Case in point, their phone line went down today, so we just drove over there to place our order and let them know about the outage. It takes an interested and compassionate community to help a new, local, family-run business grow.
Very Bad Business... Let me start by saying that I was so excited to try this place out based on the menu and reviews I read on yelp. I came out here from Hayward after doing some shopping in Dublin and decided to see if there were any new Thai places around. It was around 1:30 on a Saturday afternoon and when I pull in the parking lot I'm shocked to see a dark restaurant with the door clearly stating the hours indicating that they should be open. Very very disappointing and I don't even want to bother coming back to try a restaurant that can't be bothered to be open when they say they are.
So my wife pre-ordered (and pre-paid) a catering tray, a few nights ago, for pickup tonight. We arrived here before six. They were supposed to be open till 830. Well they weren't. Now we are pretty much scrambling, to bring food to our event.
It is a place ok the food is so so my noodles where soggy and my order was incomplete. I know it's a new place but hopefully they will get better as time goes on. The reason I gave the 3stars was because the people where very friendly.
Pad thai was extremely sweet and difficult to serve due to long noodles. Decent curry. They don't have boba despite the poster that's up. All dishes served on disposable servingware and plates. I would go to Tin Thai down the road instead, or Lanna Thai on Las Positas.
Great service very friendly and family Owned. Thai food is great and has homemade Thai flavor. Great prices as well
Won't be back to this place. Ordered on their app.. specified exactly what kind of rice. And low and behold they messed the order up by the time I got home and opened up the boxes. $30 for two items.. ridiculous when they can't even get it right.

I ordered here for the first time and I am glad I did! The food was delicious and the people there are so nice! I'll definitely be back.
I googled new restaurants, in Livermore, and Thai Chef popped up. This place might be small, but it's big on taste and portions. I ordered the pumpkin curry and was greatly surprised by the size and amount of veggies along with the shrimp. Also, the price was fair. Needless to say, I'll be back.
I ordered a tray of Pad Thai shrimp, got it in 7 small boxes, went to the party and got chicken Pad Thai. Called them up, the lady do not accept her mistake. Apologies should be enough but she lies and making excuses. Bad business. But, go ahead, if you want cheap food let them stay in business.
Authentic Thai food served by very sincere people. They just opened up recently and really deserve more attention. Amazing food quality! Definitely check them out!
It's so nice to have another option in North Livermore. The food is quite good, and the staff is very nice.
