This is a bar that has a fine dining element without the fine dining prices. Chef was the former sous at Range Life which has a Michelin bib gourmand, so the small plates have a fun and eclectic but elevated feel.
I probably wouldn’t recommend here if you are a “steak and potatoes kind of person”, because they dont have “basic” food like the other places in town. They keep the menu pretty small because they dont have a full kitchen, but everything has been top tier so far!
I actually like coming here on slower nights (thursday and sunday) because it just has a very familiar and cozy vibe, like im at some secrete club where the staff knows my name. Friday and saturday are very fun with high energy in the dining room, but it’s almost impossible to get a walk-in table for inside since they only have 5 tables and a small bar. Definitely make a reservation!!
If you come for their “after dark” menu they have different drinks and spam musubis, and you just feel very “cool” hanging out here because of the ambiance. This place definitely has SF, Oakland, or even New York vibes which is unique to the area.
They also have a photobooth, cute back patio, and a vinyl dj twice a month!
10/10!!

It is a pirate theme til early November, seemed a little light on decor but we appreciated the theme drinks and tiki bowls!
Food: Upcharge for bread is quite a bit imo but it is still delish. Crudo both times on point. Whipped feta is good but you better love it. Definitely more a light bites type of place.

Decided to walk in while passing by and I am so glad I did. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The drinks were amazing, especially the ones with Mezcal. I had Yellow Tail appetizer with the Mezcal which was perfect pairing. Try it, you will enjoy it!

We had a private event birthday celebration at Black Cat and it was fabulous! Great working with the owner, Dina, who was attentive and helpful to create a fun event. The staff was on hand to help us before/during/after. We enjoyed charcuterie and fruit platters and the cocktails were all so good. Great spot for drinks, food, and private events. Definitely recommend!

the drinks and food are very good, me and my wife came from half moon bay to try the drinks of this place.. everything was great, the only inconvenience was at the end. when I paid in 2 we spent more than 100$ and I left the tip in cash, when I gave my credit card to pay. after paying I saw that he charged me 23 extra dollars included in the tip in the bill, after I had already given the tip in cash.. I'm sorry but this is not correct you have to specify before that the tip is included otherwise I would not have left the tip in cash.. too bad because the drinks are good but if you continue like this you will lose your customers..
*** Correction*** after we spoke and clarified via email with the owner she apologized and refunded me the tip money that they had automatically added to my bill after I had already given the tip in cash.

Black cat is one of our favorite spots in Livermore! The back patio is so nice (and dog friendly!!) their cocktails and small eats are out of this world! They also have great natural wine. We highly recommend.

Traveled in from Chicago for work looking for exactly this experience. From the music to the service to the food, everything was incredible. The wines selection is purposefully sparse and curated with intention. Do not miss the Crudo and the Japanese sweet potato. The whipped feta was also amazing and paired nicely with the Plowboy, a wine by one of the owner’s dads. The music was also fantastic, great vibes after a long day. If you’re still reading, do you need another reason? Make a reservation and go!

I absolutely love this place! The vibe, the food, the drinks, are all top-notch. I want to give a special shout out to Phoebe for giving such great service and really just enhancing the dining experience for my friends and I last night. She was very kind and gave us great explanations for every item. As a transplant, I am so so grateful that there is a great place like this in town.
