Bad service. Bad food. Lawn was the only "nice" thing. Limited menu. No warm greeting from hostess and waiter. One of those places where asking for less sweetness in a cocktail or extra ice and they roll their eyes like it's climbing a mountain.

Need reservations on Sunday. Turned away at the hostess stand. This could have been avoided with an updated website or voice message

We did not know in advance that the restaurant had become part of the event center-my mistake . Setting is beautiful and the service was good but the menu is limited and the food is golf course clubhouse fare.

Unfortunate experience. We were told to sit anywhere so we did. We sat on deck where there were 3 empty tables so we sat in the middle. Took a bit for server to get to us but that was fine. As we were admiring the view, another group was seated to our right. Our server came and got us our wine and order. We both ordered salad and tacos to share. Waited again, and another group got seated on our left. Table to the right got their food - their burgers looked good. We asked where ours was and was told they think it might have gotten mixed up and they would check. As we waited some more, table to the left got their food - also burgers, at least 1 anyway. Waited some more but was hungry and getting a bit annoyed. By the time we had been there about an hour, we got up, asked to pay for our wine and cancel our food. They were apologetic and comped the wine but it didn't make for a good experience. The glass of wine we each had (1 red, 1 white) at least was good. As we were about to leave, our food came out of the kitchen. They offered to box it up for us but we were no longer interested and just wanted to get something else.

Food and Atmosphere is excellent so rated 5 stars. Service has 4 stars in missing the speed of the food ordering and service (little slower).

As a former cook at Wente Brothers, I am deeply disappointed with the taste and creativity of the current menu. During my tenure, maintaining high-quality, creative dishes was paramount. However, it's evident there's been a significant decline in standards. Additionally, I was obliged to leave a 20% mandatory tip, despite experiencing a blunder in the service, including a waitress accidentally dropping a dirty fork on my lap, staining my cashmere pants. There was no offer to cover the dry cleaning bill or any gesture to compensate for this inconvenience. It's truly disheartening to witness the decline of Wente.

Food was so far above expectation—my husband loved his carnitas tacos—the pork shreds were crisped and perfectly cooked. My wedge salad was so flavorful! Large chunks of blue cheese and a dressing that was incredibly flavorful. The 1883 hamburger used high quality beef and received rave reviews from our seat mate. Couldn't have been happier with the key lime pie. Fantastic crust. Had a great afternoon on the patio. Highly recommended

I was contacted and I provided my personal email address and I've heard nothing! Pretty much what I expected.

The owner of The Grill at Wente Vineyards (5040 Arroyo Rd Livermore, CA 94550) should be made aware of the lack of customer service from your "hostess". She just messed up an opportunity for you to generate some revenue and gain a potential return customer. I made a confirmed reservation a few days in advance, for Outdoor seating on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at 1:00 pm. When I got there, I mentioned my reservation to the hostess. Looking outside, there are several tables outside in direct sunlight, with the umbrellas completely closed. It's the middle of the day and uv levels are climbing. The "hostess" says to us we can sit inside or sit at one of the tables in the sun. She then literally says she "can't open an umbrella for us ". Ridiculous. Worst customer service experience of my entire life. Totally wasted my time driving here. I was about to blow $100 bucks but instead, we walked out and ended up in some random taqueria. Needless to say, I will never return to the Grill. (5040 Arroyo Rd Livermore, CA 94550) * Update 3/6/2024 * Last week Tina C. from "The Grill" left a comment here on yelp to send email info. to "discuss further". The next day I sent a private message which was received and read. Now it's 8 days later and still no follow up and nobody has reached out to me.

The service was terrible when we were there. Our appetizer didn't come. We told the waitress and she went in to put in the order again but even after we ate all our food. The appetizer still didn't arrive so we had to cancel it. Food came our cold and not good. This trip was very disappointed. On top of that, they overcharged our bill. We called and they said that is normal because their restaurant always charge higher than the bill to make sure there is money in the bank to cover the bill. This is ridiculous. First time I heard that kind of excuse. Definitely not coming back there.

The cheeseburger is the best! It’s not on the menu, but they know exactly what it is when you order it.

Very basic place like a local cafe place, food is very basic.Wine was good we had Wente Cabernet ($35 bottle). Waiter modified the tip, beware! take a signed receipt copy and check your cc to make sure they have not overcharged. We were given only one receipt to sign and trusting them, we didn't ask for second copy.

FOOD: came with the family and ordered wings, artichoke dip, hummus, tacos, spring mix salad, and hamburger. The hummus was ok, artichoke dip and burger were pretty good, salad and tacos were delicious. SERVICE: was average. Lady was attentive and took orders and bought our food. Ambiance: really nice view of the vineyards. Went out for a walk and took pictures. Really. Will come back. The view and wine more than make up for the food.

Great wine. Wonderful service. Fantastic ambiance. We had a group of 12 people around the outdoor fire pit.
