Great place to come with your friends for a day trip from the Bay Area. Great food. Can’t say enough about proprietor Nate.

My bike buddy and I were doing a loop starting from San Jose and culminating in a climb (and descent) of Mt. Hamilton from Mines Road this past Sunday. Stopped at Rainbow Junction for a quick bite - split an order of garlic fries and had a strawberry lemonade. Both excellent - the fries were perfectly seasoned and salted. Of course when you're getting ready to climb the back side of Hamilton, carbs and salt are an absolute must! There was a big group of friendly motorcyclists enjoying their lunches there as well and we had a nice chat with them.

Only open on the weekends, but if you're a cyclist in the area make sure to plan your ride to stop here for eats and drinks. They have a huge selection of beverages to choose from! Operated by friendly folks and also they have wi-fi and accept cards and electronic payments (Apple/Google Pay) which is especially appreciated since the last owners were cash only. We'll be back!

The Rainbow 🌈 Junction is open weekends only so far. The new owners are super friendly. The food has been satisfying, fresh and delicious the couple times I’ve been there. Gluten-free and vegetarian options available. They hope to extend hours to include dinner.
Camping is available on hipcamp. Great spot for stargazing. We saw a great view of the comet. Friendly staff. Plenty bicycles and motorcycles stop and hang out.

Dietary restrictions: Vegetarian, gluten free, vegan options.

Re-opened in March 2024, pictures is Nate the new proprietor. Super views, easy menu and food prepped on the spot, selection of cold beverages in cans/bottles. I could sit in the reading room all day and hang out. What a great stop along CA-130.

This place is so great! The road leading up to it is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful in California. And at the end of it is rainbow junction! Great burgers, and camping, and a beautiful hike over the hills (for campers only) and coming soon are the done sites for glamping!
Do not miss this opportunity for a perfect one day excursion.

Awesome place to stop for a burger and a beer! Great new owners and the menu is growing. The ride/ drive out there is worth going by itself. 100% will be back and recommend!!!

Perfect destination for a motorcycle ride!
If you're brave, try the ghost pepper Jack cheese on your burger! (new management no longer has ghost pepper cheese)
I haven't been there since the new owners took over during covid.

I stopped in this parking lot many times on rides to Mt. Hamilton and its never been open. I understand there is a new owner(?). Regardless, I had one of the best hot dogs ever and the guy I was riding with had a great burger.

Always nice to have The Junction open for a break after cycling for 30 miles! No ice, but cold drinks and hot food. (I usually bring my own munchies).

Quiet bar-style restaurant. Canned beer, wine, canned soda. Felt more like a snack bar.

Right now it’s run by the owner and her family. Apparently looking to sell the business.

All that said, they were super friendly and accommodating. I’d go back if I was in the area.

Parking: Open lot for parking.

Kid-friendliness: While kids would be welcome, the food choices are limited
