On a Hamilton ride and bummed to have just missed the open hours. But wait! The super nice owner came out and offered water and to open up just to sell us all some cold beverages, really helped make the day. Such a cute spot, can’t wait to time it better and come back to enjoy the food as well!
My bike buddy and I were doing a loop starting from San Jose and culminating in a climb (and descent) of Mt. Hamilton from Mines Road this past Sunday. Stopped at Rainbow Junction for a quick bite - split an order of garlic fries and had a strawberry lemonade. Both excellent - the fries were perfectly seasoned and salted. Of course when you're getting ready to climb the back side of Hamilton, carbs and salt are an absolute must! There was a big group of friendly motorcyclists...
The Rainbow 🌈 Junction is open weekends only so far. The new owners are super friendly. The food has been satisfying, fresh and delicious the couple times I’ve been there. Gluten-free and vegetarian options available. They hope to extend hours to include dinner.
Camping is available on hipcamp. Great spot for stargazing. We saw a great view of the comet. Friendly staff. Plenty bicycles and motorcycles stop and hang out.
