Disappointed by the racist discriminating staff. We came here for lunch, the staff about 6-7 people were hanging at the sidelines, and not one came to seat us
First ever experience wine tasting in California. We came from our road trip from Wisconsin and have become a brand loyalist from this experience alone. Thank you Shelia. The experience was amazing and we called ahead just to see if we could stop bybecause the tastings were booked online. They were able to get us in for an amazing tasting experience that ended in us joining the wine club. I felt like I was treated with respect and joy. I didn't feel out of place or unwanted for my inexperience. It felt like a midwest welcome. We want to come back yearly now. Sheila was lovely and informative. I enjoyed her candor and experience.
This whole place was amazing and I cannot stop gushing over it. Everyone was so friendly. Thank you for such a memorable moment.
Sadly Wente has changed for the worse. Understaffed, The whole building is a wine tasting only, but only one cheese plate to offer. Is the same one that Murrietas Well serves. From the same Catering Co. And it looks worst than a cheese plate on an Airline!
The staff at the golf course is actually nice - not like here. Commercialized, cheap sweet wines, and some entitlement from the staff here = place not to visit again.
Very mid experience compared to other wineries. Our server seemed like she didn’t want to be there nor did she care to give much info on any of the wines or grounds even after inquiring more. She would leave us and not check on us, and would reappear suddenly only to pour our glasses quickly and run off again in hiding somewhere. In the end we had to find a server at the front to pay our bill, deciding against buying a charcuterie board and went to Rubino’s nearby which was a way better experience.
If looking for a good time be ready to fight. I’m Definitely not going back to this Vineyard again or recommending it due to one bad apple. I normally don’t write reviews but this needs one. Today out of all the days Mother’s Day we encounter a very rub and disgruntle employee working in the parking lot directing traffic. If management is reading this review they know who it is because I’m sure other people ran into the same issue today. That worker shouldn’t be working with people very rub and unprofessional. I can’t believe what I saw today this guy got in my dads face yelling at him over a conversation if my bad could move the car closer for my mom that has a heart condition with a handicap plaque. This is after we asked another staff member if we could park closer and he said not an issue feel free. But unfortunately as we got the car they must have switched shifts and then we got our friend that had to show how tuff he was and flare up on 2 older people. One that has a heart condition and the other with a bad hip that could barely walk. That guy should not have a job and should not be working with the public with a temper like that. First impression are a lot for me and now reading other reviews looks like things need to be worked on.
The $50 tasting menu is definitely worth trying. The Chardonnay is creamy, and there's a wide selection of wines. The cheese and charcuterie are amazing, serving as the perfect complement to the wines. The hospitality staff provided an exceptional experience.
Very disappointing, especially for the $40 fee. While the wines are good, there is no written description of the wines listing their varietal content, type and length of aging, and the vineyards where the grapes were picked. When I asked for this information, the server showed me a one page listing for ONE of the wines and then took it away. This is ridiculous for a tasting with a dozen wine choices, many of whose names do not hint at the content of the wine.
Excellent all around! Wente is the top dog winery in Livermore, and for good reason. The grounds are the most beautiful and largest of any winery in the area, there is TONS of seating both indoors and outdoors, the servers and sommeliers are friendly and know their stuff, and the wines are great! I've never waited for a table here, I walk in and get seated for a tasting immediately - try that at another winery! A bonus is that in the summer Wente is somehow far cooler than all the other Livermore wineries, with a beautiful breeze blowing all the time. They also have live music events, a jazz festival, and much more. You simply must try Wente, and I say that as a die hard Napa regular who also lived in France for a year. The Livermore vibe is special, friendly and welcoming, and I love it. Oh, and they allow kids, which for me might just be the best part!
Really good wines and beautiful view!

Honestly- this place was a tragedy. I booked a large party and upon doing so they said they would not be providing charcuterie services and we would be asked to leave if my party of 7 brought their own outside food. When we arrived they said they would be doing food service… make that make sense. For $40 dollars per person I would expect better. They sat our party by the door and CONTINUOUSLY let the draft in and it was cold! And when we would get up to close the door we would be glared at by the staff- whom also was talking about us under their breath to eachother because HELLO, you’re right there- we can see you… anyways i will not be going back. There are much more accommodating vineyards in the area.
Made a reservation a week in advance and they scrambled to seat us when we arrived. Ended up seating us by the door and when we asked to have the door closed they gave us a hard time but said we can close it if it gets left open. A server then gave us a hard time and and was very rude to us. He also glared every time he came by our table (a guy in shorts).
Also they mentioned how they don’t serve food and you cannot bring your own so we planned to eat in advance. Then we are seated they asked if we wanted to order food which they started serving that day?
Also the nth generation merlot was disliked by the entire group.
Wente Vineyards Tasting Patio Lounge Review: Room for Improvement
Our visit to Wente Vineyards’ Tasting Patio Lounge fell short of expectations, especially considering its prestigious reputation. While the wine was certainly enjoyable, particularly the Riesling and nth Degree Pinot Noir, the overall hospitality left much to be desired.
We had hoped for a welcoming and family-friendly environment, but our experience suggested otherwise. Our 4-year-old daughter, seated next to us and behaving calmly, was singled out by a server who seemed unnecessarily strict. She asked us to keep our daughter seated, even though our child was already sitting and not disturbing others. Meanwhile, we noticed other families with children moving around more freely without any comments from the staff.
This inconsistency in treatment affected our perception of the atmosphere. We understand the importance of ensuring safety in a busy environment, but a more thoughtful and even-handed approach would have been appreciated.
The service was also notably slow. Our tasting experience, which included five flights, stretched over two hours. However, we want to highlight the efforts of our server, Kim, who was friendly and attentive despite the busy setting. Her positive attitude was a bright spot in our visit.
While we did enjoy the wine, the overall experience has left us uncertain about whether this venue aligns with the welcoming environment we were looking for.
I stopped in for a tasting while visiting the area for work. Every single wine in the tasting was phenomenal, and Grant made it a very enjoyable experience with great conversation and insights on the wines.
This is a beautiful tree-shaded oasis, an amazing place to spend a few hours sipping delicious wine. We came in the early afternoon right after lunch so we didn't try any food, but the complimentary breadsticks were tasty. Our server, Gina, did an awesome job of telling us about each wine and we honestly enjoyed them all. Highly recommended!
