Tried out Tamaen Japanese BBQ & Steak in Lomita for some yakiniku. We ordered the Japanese A5 Wagyu Yaki-Shabu, Truffle Salt Beef Skewer, American Wagyu Premium Short Rib Gold, Beef Tartare, Kyoto-Style Grilled Green Onion Roll, and Oxtail Soup. The Tamaen Reserve Course ($110 per person) is worth every penny spent. All the meat that was served are comparable to the Japanese meat. Juju and Mai are excellent . They were very attentive and friendly . I would definitely come back and 100% recommend it. You will not regret spending your money.
Great cuts for the price, especially the tongue and short rib. They give you enough side dishes to make it feel complete. Grills heat evenly and don’t flare up too much. Service is attentive without hovering. Reservations help on weekends.
