Wines are ok but somewhat overpriced. If this is the style of wine one is looking for head to Caparone Winery & Vineyards in Paso or Karna in Los Olivos. Well worth the extra drive.

If you're Not a Drinker, and definitely Not a Wine drinker; like me... You just may be swayed into savoring the taste of these grapes; Prepared without sulfurs or the stuff that gives one headache. Then, suddenly you become interested in learning about the chemistry, skill, Pure Passion and Time that it requires to Create such a superior Wine Product with an incredibly smooth taste. This is a boutique, family owned and operated Winery located in Central California. If you are lucky to have a vist to taste some wines and snack on Dave's homemade charcuterie. By Appointment Only. Free Shipping Too... I mean... I left with a case. Tell Dave I sent you....Peace.

We visited and loved the wines and really enjoyed hanging out with the owner, wine maker, staff, and regular patrons. Just finished a 2012 vintage of the Voyager red blend and we really enjoyed it. A great tasting California 11 year old red blend is a testament to the talent of the wine maker.

Wonderful wine and great service! And bonus, the wine maker makes the best olive oil and hot sauces!

Did a wine tasting here, and the quality of the wine was superb. We sat in a little outdoor tent, and there was music playing. We met the staff and the somalie as well and all were very nice. The tasting was only $25, and it was well worth it for 5 great wines. Would definitely recommend!

Stopped in here during a wine tasting day and had so much fun with the owners and winemakers that we ended up staying for hours! We left with many bottles as well because the wine is amazing.

The first time we tasted here we were blown away at the quality of the wine. We left with a case and have been back multiple times to restock and taste. Wine is made in the old world method, focusing on quality rather than quantity and production speed. Its very clear that the wine maker has a deep respect and commitment to his product. We always enjoy tasting here and have to come back frequently when our supply runs low. Highly recommend!

From the beginning, Dark Water Winery attracted our attention. We could always tell that there was something coming--and it was. This small facility would grow from an unassuming corner building to fill an inviting space of carpet-lined tents, scrambling succulents, and celebratory magnums. There have been times when Lompoc's wine ghetto has looked like an empty spot on the map. Built upon pavement and storage facilities, it is a far cry from the lush stretches of the nearby santa rita hills. So when a place like this at the edge of a parking lot fulfills a thirst for both beauty and culture, it rivals most anthropological discoveries.Anthropological and cultural conversations are right in the vein of what visitors find from their hosts at Dark Water. Dave, a master of viticulture, has a love for hefty reds that is showcased by his bold zinfandel and carmine toscano blend. His talent for fine fare goes beyond the fruit of the earth, as he crafts masterpieces of charcuterie to complement the tasting flights. Alongside him is Reggie, a seafaring native whose forays have taken him both to vineyards for sauvignon blanc and to the wild catalina islands (after 8 hours of rowing a handmade vessel!). And last, but certainly not least, is Reggie's wife Joann. Having worked everywhere from big city corporations to small operations, she graces the tasting room with her presence as a hostess who makes everyone feel invited.Even more, everyone feels toasted! The three will emerge with tidbits that allow one to expect the unexpected. It could be a pour from one of Dave's mystery barrel blends, a plate of Joann's handmade mac 'n cheese, or a surprise award for the customer with the most fashionable and unmissable hat.Visit Dark Water to find communal expression. To beat in the heart of a fulfilled group. And to be the newest toastee of Joann, Dave, and Reggie.

Fun crowd on their patio in the Wine Ghetto, the owners/winemaker are interesting and friendly! We joined the wine club during our first visit... wonderful wine done Italian style, aged longer than most for smooth and flavorful reds. We bought mostly those (the Paddler is our favorite, also loved the Voyager and Syrah). The white I had was refreshing on the wine patio when we were there in person on a warm day... will try more of those next visit! We tend to drink reds in winter :-)

We met the owners of the winery, and they were so friendly. We also met their dog. What is amazing about this winery was meeting the person who makes their wine. All the wines we tasted were yummy!

Located in the wine ghetto of lompoc this establishment exemplifies what Lompoc's potential is capable of. Dave is very knowledgeable and attentive to what our needs were. I would recommend this winery 100x over. Great wine, great ambience, and even greater taste in wine.
