555 East American Steakhouse

We celebrated my birthday last night and I have nothing but high praise for all aspects of our experience - from the waitress to the chef, and even to our amazing busboy who was so attentive to our needs. Lovely dark wood decor with beautiful lighting. We are sorry we missed out on the piano player who performs every night except Sundays, but we will look forward to that on our next visit. It was well worth the drive. The chocolate souffle and creme brulee were the perfect finish to our meal. Thank you!

Food was amazing, especially the gold wagyu filet, and all steaks were cooked to perfection. Our server Sarah was the best! She was very energetic, friendly and attentive. We 100% will be back!

We normally love 555 but this visit was just ok. Our Cesar salad was very oily and not enjoyable and then my steak was dry and just not that good. On a positive note the goat cheese appetizer was absolutely delicious.

We've made it a tradition to come here for Thanksgiving, as this was our third year dining here. We dine here additional times throughout the year as well. The one thing that has been consistent is my steak never comes out correct the first time. I always have to send my steak back for it to be cooked properly because it comes out overcooked. Usually, once my steak is sent back, the manager comes to visit our table. This year, my steak was sent back and not a single manager came to check in. Also, in the past when I've sent my steak back, it comes out with fresh potatoes! This time, I had to enjoy my steak with cold sides because only the steak came back! Maybe it's time to change up restaurants for our Thanksgiving tradition! As a person who loves to dine here, the consistency of not having my steak right the first time and lack of acknowledgment from upper management is enough for me to spend my money elsewhere. Saruh was an amazing waitress! She had us laughing all night long, despite the food not being served properly! Oh, and we didn't get fresh bread until after our appetizers came out. We kept being told fresh bread is coming out shortly, and we watched the tables around us all get served fresh bread. It took them about 40 mins to bring us bread!

I have loved this place for years. But this last experience was not great. My wife, mother, and I were there on Thanksgiving. We all wanted steak. The Caesar salads were good, as was the bread. The mains were less than great. My wagyu sampler was both undercooked and cold when it was served Really disappointing given the cost. My mom and wife liked their steaks more. But it took 10-15 minutes after getting the steaks to get the sauces she ordered. The server was busy and did a good job. One of the bus persons was terrific and really on it. But the cold steak was a huge disappointment. The super rare and cold wagyu sampler was terrible. What a drag.

Overall a pleasant experience. We went for Thanksgiving so I think they were just hecticly busy. Drinks took a while to come out but overall we had a lot of fun and the staff was extremely accommodating to our disabled daughter. Would recommend.

Generally love 555 and go often to eat at the bar. We went and had Thanksgiving pre fix and the ham was in chunks, scant gravy, so so stuffing. The value was nowhere near $75 a plate. Definitely would not go back for Thanksgiving.

The service levels and food quality are always consistent. Servers are extremely friendly, professional, and help create memorable experiences. For Long Beach, this is a hidden gem. Reservations recommended because you never know when there is a convention in town and thus can have high wait times. One of the best steaks in town…even more so than their competitor across the street (a Chain Steakhouse)

Great food and an excellent wine selection. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff were friendly and attentive.

We left Ruth Chris because we waited 30 minutes and a server never came to our table..It was the best decision we've ever nade! 555 is now my favorite steakhouse!

I absolutely love 555 Steakhouse! I had the opportunity to come here some years ago with some friends and my late wife. I have been trying to get back here for some years now and had the opportunity to do so yesterday as I was in Long Beach (my hometown) for a conference. The staff was amazing. I had a reservation and they quickly sat us at the bar until our table was ready. We wanted to sit near a TV because the Dodger game was on and they graciously accommodated us. The food.... Phenomenal!!! I got so full that I could barely walk out of the restaurant, LOL. This place is always great, the people that come are very nice and welcoming. Such a great atmosphere with fantastic food and service! I cannot wait to come back here again!
