Disclaimer: Food reviews are subjective. What I enjoy, you may not—and just because I don’t like something doesn’t mean it’s bad. It simply means it wasn’t to my personal taste. With that said, here’s my review.
Breakfast Republic in Long Beach is definitely a solid brunch spot with a fun atmosphere and welcoming vibe. I ordered the chilaquiles with black beans and Spanish rice along with the black bean tostadas with potatoes.
The chilaquiles were easily the star of the show — great flavor, satisfying portions, and cooked just right. Portion sizes overall were decent and filling without being overwhelming. The staff was friendly, attentive, and very helpful, which made the experience even better.
The food overall was good, though the beans fell a little flat for my taste and could have used more seasoning. Because of that, I didn’t enjoy the tostadas as much as I expected. Even with that small critique, I’d still come back again and try more items from the menu.

Great brunch spot on 2nd Street. House-made spicy Bloody Mary mix was on point, and the California breakfast burrito was delicious. Be forewarned that if you’re more than a party of 2 you’re likely going to wait 20-30 min on the weekend. Vegan and gluten free options made it easy to accommodate group with wide range of dietary restrictions. Overall, would recommend and will go back.

Great food great service and great location. I had the shrimp & grits and it was honestly perfect. My son had churro pancakes and he couldn’t eat all of it because the portion was that big. Only complaint? I got full and couldn’t eat anymore!

Food is good and healthier and better than average ingredients. They have gluten free options. Small on site parking lot that can be full quick. No reservations. The wait can be long on busy days. One clean restroom. Good service. Dog friendly. Indoor and covered outdoor dining.

Long post/review: My wife and I have been wanting to eat here for some time. They always seemed to have a line. We arrived at the tail end of their busy time (10ish) but at the time we left there were a few empty tables. Although people were waiting we were sat immediately. The interior is decorated for Christmas-time and was very festive. Our server greeted us shortly after we sat. My wife ordered a prosecco and I ordered a coffee. The prosecco came out within 5 minutes. I had to ask for the coffee after waiting 15+ minutes, the server apologized and I received the coffee a few minutes later. The atmosphere is really cool, the tables are close so it gets loud but it still a very cool vibe. My wife ordered the jumbalaya and I order the rib eye with eggs. My wife really enjoyed the jumbalaya, the rib eye was plated very cool but was not as good as I expected. It needed salt and steak sauce despite having their special butter on top. My wife inquired about the very cool coffee cups, asking if they were for sale and the server checked and brought us the last one, apparently they sell out if them, we appreciated the effort. But then she kind of went awol. Twenty minutes later, never stopped by to refill my coffee or even ask if we needed anything. We saw her chitchatting with guests from behind the bar but never checked on us. Then another 20 minutes to get a box and our check. Mind you, we were there at the end of their rush and the place was half empty. We will likely go back to try more of their menu and hopefully get better service next time.

On Christmas Day, my family and I drove from Riverside to visit your location for the first time. After waiting over an hour for our food, we were informed that our order had been missed entirely. My young son was in tears due to the long wait and disappointment, especially on Christmas Day. This experience was extremely frustrating.
Unfortunately, we decided to give it another chance today since we were still in town, and the experience was even more concerning. I found a bug in my drink, which is unacceptable and raises serious concerns about cleanliness and food safety. Additionally, the restroom floor was wet with no warning signs, and my daughter slipped and fell very hard. This could have resulted in a serious injury. Overall, the service during both visits was poor, and it’s clear that staff training and cleanliness standards need immediate attention.

This breakfast/brunch place has quickly become one of my favorite places to eat during weekend mornings. Mostly I just rotate between my few favorite items. The San Diego is a benedict that uses turkey in lieu of Canadian bacon/ham. The loaded mashed potato omelete is very tasty. My favorite meal is called the Presley, it's peanut butter stuffed french toast topped with bananas foster.

I had breakfast here for the first time, and I’m definitely coming back! I got the breakfast burrito, and wow, it was delicious and came with a ton of food. I absolutely love the vibe, and I’d totally recommend it to anyone in LB who’s looking for a great breakfast spot.
