It felt surprisingly enjoyable spending time at the California Pizza Kitchen in Long Beach when I visited with someone, because the whole place had this warm and relaxed atmosphere that made it easy for me to settle in and enjoy myself without feeling rushed. I ordered their regular pepperoni pizza, and I didn’t expect to love it as much as I did, but the flavor was so comforting and satisfying that it immediately became the highlight of my visit, especially with the crust being the perfect mix of soft and crisp and the pepperoni having just the right amount of spice. While I was sitting there eating, I noticed how pleasant the environment felt with people talking, laughing, and enjoying their meals in a way that made the restaurant feel lively without being overwhelming, and I appreciated how naturally the atmosphere matched the kind of calm, enjoyable energy that I connect with. It was a new location to me, but I didn’t realize how much there was to appreciate until I walked inside and experienced it for myself. I only visited California Pizza Kitchen in Long Beach one time in my life before making this review, but it left a stronger impression on me than I expected because of how good the pepperoni pizza tasted and how comfortable the whole place felt. I lived for 24 years, but I’m not physically or mentally 24 years old, and in the summertime of 2024 I learned that I’m still physically and mentally 18 years old, and I also learned that my prefrontal cortex is more developed than average 25‑year‑olds’ prefrontal cortex in the human brain, which helps explain why relaxed, welcoming environments like this feel especially right for me and why this ended up being one of the most enjoyable dining experiences I’ve had in a while.

I wish I can give them 0 stars. Service needs to be better table management needs to be better. Taking reservations for parties over 4 makes more sense so that when 4 parties come in with 5 to 9 people it be easier to manage how to organize your seating arrangements so you don’t start asking parties to sit seperated just to be seated sooner. It also shouldn’t take 15 minutes to be greeted by the waiter after being seated and then told there isn’t any more place settings

I went for Veteran's day and it was the absolutely best experience ever! The staff was really sweet and professional. Thank you for making me feel welcomed!

Great CPK, I love your food, this branch, and the servers such as Shannon, Ben, and the younger male (forgot his name but he has a mustache and earrings) -- they are lovely servers.

The bald server, Anthony, is terrible and provides a poor experience. Disregards customer's requests, is sarcastic, and takes forever to take your order, bring your food, or assist with your requests (bring bread, napkins, utensils, etc). Please check on this server and address that issue. Don't know why he is still working there. Avoid him.

Often dine at CPK and love the food but went with a large party, had Anthony three times already, and he was awful at taking care of a big party. Other servers helped us out more such as Shannon and the younger male server other than our real server. Wish we had complained about Anthony to the female manager who was helpful.

Well, they know how to make good food. Some of the dishes are little small like the pizza but overall it tasted very good and the place that I love to go to.

I like to California pizza . I ll try avocado pizza , veggie pizza , and cauliflower . Cauliflower is not cook well . But I like pizza .

Stopped here for an impromptu dinner with my child before heading to. We were greeted warmly by the host and seated right away. The waitress came by quickly to take our food and drink order and brought us bread with oil. I ordered the vegetarian lettuce wraps and my child ordered cheese pizza off the kids menu. We both enjoyed our meal.

After we got our check my child wanted dessert so they picked out key lime pie, which I asked for to-go since we were running late. It took awhile for the pie to come out and there were no utensils provided- that was the only hiccup for the night.

Overall - Service was great. Food was great. I haven't been to a CPK in a while and this experience made me want to go back.

We arrived just after 8PM on our way home from Catalina. We were seated very quickly by the very friendly hostess. It took quite awhile before our server acknowledged he knew we were there. We split a cauliflower crust pepperoni pizza with added arugula. It arrived very promptly and was delicious. So overall, service was good. Food was great. I would definitely go back.

I recently dined here and was impressed by the exceptional service provided by Tilere. He was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and made the entire experience enjoyable. His professionalism and welcoming demeanor stood out immediately.

On top of his excellent service, he presents himself with a polished, confident appearance, which adds to the welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant. It’s rare to find someone who combines skill, professionalism, and charisma so effortlessly.

The Manager Genie was very polite and professional she made sure everyone was enjoying there time at the restaurant.

And my goodness the food is amazing especially that tomato soup 10/10
