This is one of those places I always drive by when I’m in Long Beach but have never eaten at. We were looking for a place to have lunch and thought why not give it a try.

Upon entering, we were greeted really warmly by the woman at the front counter. She was very kind to my friend and I, sporting a big smile on her face and made us feel at home. She recommended me the Quesabirria plate which comes with three quesabirrias of good size, and a side of consomé.

Cantarito Cocina Mexicana is like a culinary hug from your favorite abuelita, with dishes that will make your taste buds do the salsa.They just renovate and the place is amazing, the ambience takes you to your favorite destination in Mexico. And let's not forget about the heart and soul of this place - the owner Jorge. Not only does he whip up some of the best ceviche and birria quesadilla tacos in town, but he's also the kind of guy you'd want to share a cold beer...

This is a tiny place with delicious food. Tasted like my grandma's cooking. We ordered cheese enchaladas, crunchy tacos and asada sopes. So good! They serve their chips with beans on top! Yummy!
