I love Cava and was so excited when they opened a Long Beach location. Sadly, this location is not great. I waited for 30 minutes to get a bowl. I know this isn't a fast food drive-thru, but 30 minutes is still way too long for this type of dining establishment. There's only ever 2 people on the line even during peak lunch hours, and 1 of those workers is both on the line and gets held up checking people out at the cash register so the line moves painfully slow. I witnessed at least 6 people today either ditch the line early because it was taking so long or arrive at the restaurant, see the line, and decide it wasn't worth it. This location needs more staff to meet demand (this place is always busy). They should also put up a menu showing all the options you can add to your bowl/pita for newer customers - not just list "chef-curated bowls and pitas". That way they can decide or think about what they want while they're waiting in line. The line always gets held up by new customers that don't know how they can customize their bowl until they see the little menu up front when it's their turn to order.
I also don't understand why bags of pita bread/pita chips are not put together beforehand, like how Chipotle has a shelf of tortilla chips ready to go in a bag when a customer asks for them. I prefer Cava's food to Chipotle's but I think Chipotle has their system and service in all locations down pat. Cava doesn't. This place is marketed as a quick, convenient, lunch place to rival Chipotle, but this location isn't delivering on that vision.

It’s my first time at CAVA and Walter was super warm, friendly and welcoming! Also, his food recommendation was amazing. All the food that was prepped was very fresh and tasted sooooo good. Also, shout out to Dominick who was working as the cashier and assisted in prepping my food as well. I don’t often leave reviews but you two have the best costumer service. I’ll definitely be coming back :)

Waited 45 minutes to pick up my online order this past Monday late afternoon. Regretted ordering online because customers who would walk in to order in the store would leave within 5minutes of walking in. Worse off when I got home there were items missing in our bowls that I requested and paid extra for. The blueberry lavender juices we got went in the trash because they were watered down and basically tasted like flavored water. The African American employee who was working the pick up line was very nonchalant and did not offer us good customer service. When I told him there were missing extra paid for sauces and missing pita in the bag he said “okay I’ll be back” and then immediately disappeared to the backroom leaving us to wait even longer. Another employee who was apologetic attended to me after I had to raise my voice to ask for help immediately, out of frustration. Don’t order online!

Our first time there and we were not disappointed! The food was wonderful and well priced, and the customer service was out of this world. Aidan was a huge help, he recommended us what we should get/what is popular/fan favorites, and truly made our experience so so much better! 10/10 would recommend.
Edit: forgot to mention, one of the managers, I believe his name was Walter, was quite rude to us, especially to my parents. Was very unhelpful and just looked like he did not want to be there, made us feel like we were bothering him just for coming in.

It's disappointing how poor quality this particular CAVA location is. I've been a fan since I lived on the east coast, and was so pumped to have one open up in Long Beach. But this location is not worth visiting.
There is always a line. It moves super slowly. It doesn't matter what time of day. If you try to order ahead, you still have to wait. Both times I ordered ahead, it took 10-20 minutes past the expected time to get my food. They always forget my pita bread. One particular order had the worst cooked lentils I've ever eaten. They were crunchy and hard—inedible.
The worst part is the location can't fix it or refund you. You have to go through corporate if you have an issue. So now, I just stay away. It is far too expensive for what you get, and is hardly "quick service."
