My husband and I have been going here since we were first dating. Since visiting Peru, it is no question, my favorite Peruvian cuisine around! The service is always excellent and my meal has never disappointed!

I am extremely sad that they are temporarily closed. I hope not permanently. They have the best food. I love this place so much. Literally a hidden gem, because no one realizes its right next to Starbucks and roasting water. This is our go to for Mother's Day, Father's Day, and valentines. When most places would be overly crowded this place is always available. My family loves eating here. Such a warm welcoming scenery. The food has always been great and the customer service has always been excellent. I am dying to come in for some lomo saltado please open soon! The owners are amazing as well! I absolutely adore them.

We love this place! I'm your typical white girl and I don't venture out much in the food department but Charo's is one of my favorite places for dinner. Plus Charo herself is the sweetest lady. The green sauce is amazing and I literally put it in everything! If you need a new "go-to" dinner spot in Long Beach look no further!!!

My buddy and I came here for dinner before catching movie at the Regal Edwards movie theater. The place had a nice decor. It was pretty empty when we got there which was to be expected since we were there before 6 pm. My friend has been to Peru and thought the food was not bad. One day I hope to visit. I ordered their number one seller according to their menu, the arroz con mariscos. My friend ordered the empanadas and alfajores to share with me.

Arroz con mariscos - According to the menu, it's a Peruvian paella of shrimp, fish, calamari, and mussels, cooked in cilantro rice. The flavors were good, but I thought the portion was a bit small. If you have a big appetite, you will need to order something else to go with it. Empanadas - They're served in 3's. We got one of each flavor: chicken, beef, and cheese. All 3 were not bad. Alfajores - A Peruvian favorite! Butter cream cookies with creamy caramelized centers, and covered with a light sprinkle of confectioner's sugar. It takes a while for them to prepare, so order it early if you know that you want a nice dessert to go with your meal. While the prices were a bit on the higher side for the size of the portions, it was good quality food. Give this place a try if you want to check out some Peruvian cuisine! Don't forget to put squirt some of that green sauce on the complimentary bread and your food if you want a little bit of kick! That's some good stuff!

Its a very clean, nice place to have dinner with friends, especially if they are from out of town and you want to show off the Peruvian style restaurants. The staff is friendly, too.

i had the chaufa de mariscos,no flavor at all, they don't even have sesame oil (one of the main ingridients of the chaufa). Won't come back, the servers are nice though. Seriously this is my second time in that restaurant, the first time i had the pescado a lo macho it was bad and i decided to give them another chance and the chaufa was totally flavorless. Owner of this restaurant Peru is known for the good food,c'mon you can do better.

Always solid food. It used to be my favorite place to get LomoSaltada but now I like SUP noodles Lomo better.

First time here... my husband and I came in for lunch. Cozy little restaurant, decor was cute and traditional looking, food was delicious, service was excellent, and the price was fair! Free unlimited bread w/ butter and green sauce... green sauce added a little spice to the bread. I ordered the combination seafood plate (calamari, fish, shrimp) w/ rice and white beans, which was spectacular! I recommend this place to anyone craving Peruvian dishes!

If you want to try out some Peruvian food, you may want to try this place. My husband and I have visited this place a few times; each time we try to order something different, and so far, every meal we've chosen such as the Lomo Saltado, has been well cooked and tasty. This time I ordered the Grilled Peruvian grilled chicken with the Cilantro Rice. The chicken was tender, well seasoned, but not over the top. Most everything has been flavorful without being over the top. The place is always pretty quiet and never busy. It's located in the Long Beach Towne Center theater area, and it has been there for years. My favorite part of the meal is always their green sauce.
