I don't usually write reviews. But our experience today was very disappointing.

We have been going to this place for a couple of years now. We love eating here. My wife who stayed in Thailand for 7 years told me that from all the Thai restaurant that we have been. This is the only place that reminds her of authentic thai food here in USA. The food here is that good!

But here is the disappointing part. Our bad experience is because of this 1 server. The other staff have been nothing but nice to us. But this 1 server was very rude.

1st, when she was getting our order. My wife and I happen to talked at the same time when she ask us to repeat our order. This annoyed her so she rudely cuts us off. I know this because her facial expression. I get it. When my wife and I talked at the same time, this probably confused her. So I get why she was annoyed. Okay I can let that pass.

2nd, my 3 year old son, who is in the spectrum was excited coming in the restaurant. We were seated. When we notice our son getting excited in a public area. We usually have him watch in our phone to calm him down. Our son then happen to make a high pitched sound because he was excited watching his shows. The same server that was serving the other table, stopped what she was doing, which was serving the other table, and looked at our son. As if to make us feel guilty that our son is making noises. Mind you, the place is already loud because everyone in there is talking. And she was the only one that looked at our son.

Our son then happen to get very close to the other people seating right next to us. I apologized to the couple that was seating next to us because our son got very close to them. My wife then scolded our son, and told him to just sit down and watch his show. So that other people wouldn't be bothered. Whenever we tell our son something that he doesn't want to do. He usually throws a fit. This time, he took off his shoes and socks to protest from our scolding. We let him be so that we wont escalate his tantrums.

My son then happen to stand up from his seat then started dancing. He wasn't disturbing any other customers and he was just dancing in place. He does this when he watches his shows. Out of nowhere, the same server approached our son and told our son repeatedly to please sit down. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt, because she might just be concerned that my son might fall down. But tell us nice first. Talk to us first. Not directly to our son. This made us feel that we were not welcome there. Like our son, who is in the spectrum was annoying everyone in the restaurant. She made us feel that way. I even told my wife to just get our food to-go. Because we felt that we are not welcome there.

Our son made another high pitch sound because of the show he was watching and the server looked at our son again. She was the only one looking at our son. It felt like a librarian telling us just by looks to keep our son quite. The other customers there are minding their own business. Not even bothered by our son.

Anyways. I wish nothing but the best for this restaurant. Their food is the best. It's just that 1 server that ruined our day. Honestly, we may not come here again. Because she made us feel soo unwelcome. I get it. We are not a loss to them. They have hundreds of customers a day. But It just breaks my heart, that my son, who is enjoying his time in the restaurant was made feel unwelcome because he was acting like a kid that he is. We are the kind of parents that will scold our son if he is being too rowdy. But the way he acted in the restaurant was normal for a kid his age. But that lady made it look like our son was causing havoc at the place.

So if you have a child that acts like a child that they are. Be prepared to get looks from this lady.

We have dined here before, but this visit was very disappointing. From the moment we ordered, the waitress appeared visibly irritated, especially when we requested one order to go. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath in front of us, which made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.

While waiting for our food, our 3-year-old son became excited and briefly stood on the sofa chair and started dancing quietly while watching on phone. We immediately asked him to sit. The waitress then came over and told him, “Please sit down,” without addressing us as parents. While we understand safety concerns, the way this was handled felt inappropriate and uncomfortable. Instead of speaking to us as the parents, she addressed our child directly. The tone was not harsh, but the interaction felt unwelcoming. Children should be treated with respect and kindness, and concerns should be discussed with parents first.

After that, every time our son made any sound, the waitress would turn around and look at our table with visible irritation, even though other tables were louder. This experience made us feel singled out and unwelcome as a family. Unfortunately, this was the worst experience we’ve had here.

Michelin-Level Northern Thai Street Food! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Chiang Rai is a total gem in Long Beach! Don’t let the simple exterior fool you—the inside is vibrant and quirky, and the food is some of the most authentic Northern Thai cuisine I’ve ever had.
The Khao Soi is the absolute star of the show; the curry broth is rich and complex, topped with perfectly crispy noodles. I also highly recommend the Midnight Chicken and the Sai Oua (Northern Thai Sausage) for a real taste of Chiang Rai. Everything is fresh, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor.
It can get busy, so be prepared for a bit of a wait, but it is 100% worth it. If you’re looking for high-quality Thai food that goes way beyond the standard Pad Thai, this is the spot!

The first time I came here in 2023 this was a completely different restaurant than the one I just left. Tonight the tom yum and laab were sweet, bland, and not spicy. Sticky rice was old and gummy. Servers were impatient and cold.

I used to plan the day around a trip to LB for Chiang Rai. Their decline has been consistent, but after this meal I don’t know if I will ever come back.

The tom kah soup is very tasty. My husband had the beef tartare which he found unique and delicious. For dessert fried banana, not what I was expecting but delicious. Fast, friendly service. The place was packed!

Came on a Wednesday for dinner and ended up waiting for a while, but it makes sense since the restaurant is pretty small. The space was super cute, nicely decorated and colorful inside.

We ordered the pork skewers which came with sticky rice, pad see ew, Khao soi, and mango sticky rice. The food came out so fast, and everything was delicious!

So far everything I have tried here has been a hit except the Pad See Ew, that was okay. This is probably why they Michelin recommended. It is worth the wait.

The Roti with Yellow Curry was packed with flavor and very satisfying. The Khao Soi Soup with Ribeye was a rich, textured delight that felt indulgent and hearty. We also tried the Chicken Green Curry, which included fresh Thai eggplant and plenty of vegetables, with a lighter, fragrant green pepper broth that made it unique and delicious. Every dish was a memorable experience.

I wouldn’t come back. I’m not one to make a fuss about service, as long as the food is good and my belly is full walking out I don’t take it personal if the waitress has a little sass, but the attitude we got from start to finish was a little ridiculous.

There was a 45 min wait on a Friday night. We were willing to be patient and hang around until we got called in, and eventually got seated. We had barely 3 minutes to glance over their pretty expansive menu before our waitress came over and asked if we were ready. I took a look at the menu and she started tapping her finger on her screen impatiently and looking annoyed. I decided to go with the first thing that caught my eye and she just stood there silently until I had to nudge my boyfriend and ask him “what do you want” because she wasn’t saying a word to either of us. He orders the first thing he thought of and she just walked away without saying anything.

We get our plates just to realize between the two of us I was the only one who ordered an entree and what he ordered was an appetizer. At no point while we were ordering did she ask if we were sure and if we wanted anything else. She just brought me my entree and didn’t even bring enough rice for us to split the entree. While we were picking away at our food she was at the next table over chatting with other guests for 5 minutes, laughing and making conversation. At no point did anyone come and check on us during our meal even though we were both clearly annoyed. There were 2-3 servers, all making rounds, talking to families and walking around and no one took the time to check on us.

I don't know if the waitress was having a bad day or was frustrated with the rush, but it felt intentional and like she didn’t want to serve us, and we weren’t wanted there. I noticed her going back and forth with another waitress with another guest, she seemed pretty angry, no idea why but I get the impression that the service is usually like this. I could not enjoy my meal and we ended up taking it to finish at home with some leftover rice that we still had in our fridge. In my opinion this place has the trendy “instagram restaurant” look that brings influencers in, but the food is nothing out of the ordinary and we paid $65 for an app, an entree and 2 drinks. It was very mid and not worth what we paid for it.

If you’re looking for great service and home style authentic Asian cooking I really recommend PS 168 nearby, they are local and family owned and truly put their love and Cambodian background into their food. We are new to the Long Beach area so we wanted to give this new place a shot, but unfortunately we will not be going back.

Food was great, overpriced, though worth it for the quality don't get me wrong but service was awful. The lady who took our order, me and my partner, was very rude, she did not say more than a word she needed with us and was tapping her fingers impatiently while she takes our order. We came at 715pm, seated at just after 8pm, orders taken at around 8:30pm.There's a waitlist to be seated so they should probably close the waitlist sooner if they aren't willing to keep up the service. I left a small tip for the bad service but regretted tipping at all with how we were treated she did the absolute bare minimum and didn't check on us at all she just came by with the bill 30 minutes later 💁‍♂️
To be clear I do not care about wait times or last call food orders, simply the server's attitude.
