Cinco de Mayo Restaurant

Excellent Mexican food at a great price! This is a humble place with no frills, so I know I was in for an authentic mexican treat! I had individual tacos, and they were seasoned so well (especially the grilled fish!) with good portion sizing. I would go back for more had I stayed in town longer. Went with a group of friends, and they all also agreed this was a good find. Highly recommend!

I haven't been to this restaurant in a few years. I used to love the ribeye steak but it's not the same any more. It was chewy and dry.

Just moved nearby and stopped in for some tacos and beer while I waited for movers. Alma was very friendly and the food was delicious. Will definitely be back

Tried this restaurant with my family for the first time. The food was very reasonably priced, it is CASH ONLY.
Was charged for extra salsa (each little side) - $2. This is not disclosed when requesting.
When I asked how much each extra one was, I was not given a clear answer.
Waitress was convinced she brought two but she only gave us one extra (unless I was charged for the complimentary one too). We had a party of 5, one salsa was not enough.
Would appreciate it if there was more transparency regarding pricing and possibly adding another staff member to assist.

BIG ROACHES AND WHEN BRONG TO THE SEVER ATTION SHE SAID SHE WILL TAKE CARE OF IT LATER immediately waloed out and also when we had asked to change the drink we were provided it was flate and was told nothing they can do they are still going to charge 2 sodas instead of 1. DONT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE

Good Mexican food shouldn't be expensive; this restaurant isn't. It's a wonderful bargain for food; quality Mexican classics. It's on Pacific Avenue in Downtown Long Beach, walking distance to the Civic Plaza, Billy Jean King Library and courthouse. The downside is that they only accept cash for payment, although there is an ATM inside. They make excellent tacos, burritos, tortas and tostadas. I haven't tried their soups yet. You can order their burritos wet or dry, same price for either, and I never finish one without taking half of it home. Tortilla chips and salsa on the table before the meals, with the salsa being a red spicy sauce. Service is excellent and attentive. Consider getting the Jarritos soft drinks instead of the fountain sodas -- they don't filter the water, so you'll taste the bleach from the tap water used.
There is parking in the back. I love this little place for authentic Mexican food; just remember to bring cash instead of a credit card.

It's a small place. The food was not that good. The food was hot. I always like that. The worst thing was we were the only ones there when the waitresses were fighting over missing money and how they were not going to pay it back because neither of them had done it. When we were waiting to get the bill, they were talking to each other. I'm not sure what they said, but it took forever to get it. I looked it over, and they had changed me $30 dollars over we had gotten when I asked why she got nervous and blamed the other girl and went back to fix it. Never going back.

Thanks Alma, everything was Amazingly Delicious. I had Chicken Enchiladas with Green Sauce and Beans and Spanish Rice. Everything was delicious. We were able to dine here on our lunch break. Our food was served hot. I can’t say enough about how much I enjoyed my food. They have their own parking lot. So parking isn’t a problem. I will definitely be back. The food was just that delicious 🤤

Small mom and pop. Better food to price value can found elsewhere. Only 1 green sauce available. No other options if you like spicy food
