Very cute aesthetic but even better quality drinks and service. Easy to park and walk in, I usually prefer a drive through experience with kids but this was very do able multiple days and different times of day. All the baristas were very friendly and had great recommendations, the drinks and food were fantastic. I’d recommend the instigator and a breakfast burrito! I will be back when I’m in the Long Beach area.

Nice spot, tidy little espresso bar with a couple of bites to be had. Craft coffee is the key word here with custom roasts and high quality espresso drinks. Been in a few times and each time the service and coffees were great. Also the baked goods are amazing. No tables, not a place to hang out or work.

New place I tried for coffee. Tried the burritos. Not a big fan. Tasted like it was just microwaved. Coffee was really good. Vanilla latte. Really nice people for being the 1st time barista explained the menu to us. Love the deco. Just wished there was more seating as it seems it only has as you wait for your coffee. But will be back.

Was back home for a weekend and randomly found this place on Google maps for coffee and I'm so glad I came in. Too bad I had just ate a big meal otherwise I would've been all over the matcha croissant! Reason to come back next time I'm back in town. Bonus points for merch! Couldn't leave without a sweet t shirt. Goes without saying the coffee was great.

Great coffee, great team. Everyone is always really friendly and welcoming. It's a bit pricey but would rather pay for a small business to thrive than coffee from a chain

A fantastic addition to Retro Row! I'm a diehard vanilla latte or americano fan and this place delivers! Note that they only offer whole, oat, or almond milk so soy lovers are out of luck, but I've never regretted stopping by. Another favorite are their croissants, which are among the best in the area (a solid 7.5/8 which is more that can be said for a coffee shop at the other end of 4th). Unfortunately, the tables are small and meant more for chatting than working. The bar seats do not have local outlets so working for hours on a laptop isn't an option either. Come for the coffee and treats over a quick read or as a meetup, but don't expect to come here to work.

The instigator was really good. Service is quick. Easy to park. Nice spot and coffee was tasty.

I judge a coffee spot by their lattes with oat milk and let me tell you Coffee Drunk understood the assignment. The coffee was fresh and not burnt. The baristas were extremely nice and friendly. Service was fast. Don't sleep on this new coffee spot in Bixby Knolls. The ambiance was inviting. I appreciate the decor and I love the accent green tiles on the wall. You can tell the design and layout of the shop was well thought out.

Discovered this place with the perfect minimal retro vibe--it's my vibe! I'm all about supporting local, and guess what? This spot is right on my commute to work! Can't get enough of The Instigator; it's my top pick.

First time stopping by here Ive been wanting to try it and it was great. Pretty empty for Saturday morning. They had burrito options to choose from and the other option is pastries. I tried their ham and cheese croissant it was great- not too big which is fine. I had their Last Call and added a shot of espresso it was amazing. I also tried their drip coffee that was good too and definitely distinct in flavor. Very cute minimal small decor n tables inside. The baristas were super helpful and very friendly. They are opening a new location closer to me on Atlantic and del amo I will be going there as a regular for sure.

came to this location after going to the 4th street long beach one. this one is definitely smaller and doesn't have good seating like the other location. i ordered the last call which was chocolate chai with espresso and it was absolutely delicious. 10/10 and i drive the half an hour to get it every time! customer service was fine, it was just one barista working. it was a good experience trying out this location but if i ever want another drink i will probably go to their 4th street store instead

Had the coco shakerato. incredible for sure. Never had an iced coffee that delicious. The young lady helping me was kind and knowledgeable. She is the one who recommended it when I asked what I should get and based on what I told her i was looking for she said this drink. Nice and quiet place. Next time I'll sit and drink it outside. Today was to go.

Get the Instigator. Iced espresso with a tinged of brown sugar and maple syrup and milk. Perfect sweetness. They have a seasonal menu and the nicest staff. Definitely would drop by when I'm in the area.
