Second time here in 24 hrs. I just had to make sure yesterday was not a fluke. It wasn't! I grew up in Southern Italy and this pizza gives me nostalgia. Why 5 stars? Italians are very picky eaters. Anything less than perfect gets sent back. It comes down to the quality of ingredients and the cooking method. This place does it right. I will be coming back.
Ordered the DeSano for pickup before I left the office because the estimated preparation time was 15 minutes and my office was 11 minutes away. Got a notification ONE MINUTE AFTER I PLACED MY ORDER that my pizza was ready for pickup ?? needless to say, by the time I actually got my pizza, the crust had already sogged up a bit.Still an enjoyable pizza, but would’ve been nicer if it was cooked at the right time.
I always order DeSano Pizza to go. Today, I ordered 4 pies. The DeSano Pizza, Chicken, the vegetarian, and the classic. They were all amazing. I heard today that they are opening a shop near Zachary's Pizza in Berkeley. The guy at the counter said, "It should be some good competition".I think not.
