I went to have breakfast today 12/21 approximately around 1000. Unfortunately the table the waitress sat me at was dirty. Adding insult to injury she then proceeded to seat a latino man across from me but cleaned his table first. I thought to myself thats odd as I observed the crumbs, salsa and other debris. I decided since I did not receive the same service that El Sauz was not for me. I have patronized this business several times. Usually the outside window. I feel the service was substandard. Tables should always be cleaned irregardless of who the customer is.

I ordered 2 fish tacos - online it says 2.28 each and when I came in to pay I was charged $13 for two tiny tacos and at that on a Tuesday? They were good but definitely not worth the price I was charged. If I knew this were the case I would have ordered something else .

Got a table right away for a small party. Everyone’s food was delicious and came out fairly quick. We all loved the flan and full size churros and ice cream for dessert. Very big portions, enough to share for two people. Super friendly and attentive staff.

One of the best Mexican restaurants! This carnitas plate made me so satisfied. It is so big meal and tasty. Strawberry margarita is pretty and delicious! I’ll try some tacos next time!

There was a girl working at 6:51pm that took our order and she was really rude ... all we wanted was our burrito to be cut in half instead we got horrible customer service from the cashier ... I recommend her to be trained in proper customer service because she has no manners

Got a wet shrimp works burrito to go. I cut it open and it smelled wretched. I thought they had served me rotten shrimp. Turns out it was broccoli! The burrito was filled with not just broccoli but also carrots, mushrooms and corn in addition to the shrimp and rice. It was vile and inedible. I double-checked the menu and these ingredients are not listed. Gobsmacked that they served this to me.
El Sauz is one of my go-to spots in Long Beach for Mexican food. I order delivery and takeout here all the time, and it never disappoints. My favorite is the Birria 3 Taco Special—always flavorful and satisfying. The shrimp tacos are another hit, and the horchata is absolutely sublime.
Whether I’m grabbing food at the benches after a night out in LBC or getting it delivered through DoorDash, it’s always tasty and reliable. During the day, dining in is also a treat—the pozole is superb. Consistently great food and dependable quality make this one of my favorite spots in the area.
