Great Italian Fusion fare. Had a wonderful Lasagna with a Pork Ragu that was terrific! Croquettes were a real treat! Brussel Sprouts were very tasty too! Enjoy!
Wow! The food is fire. Service awwww not great! Your boy had a table for 1, traveling for work. But damn I had a 40k chain on and still got done dirty on service. But the food was worth it!
The food and service at Ellie's is really fantastic! Some of the best Italian food that we've ever had. The fresh, homemade pastas make a huge difference. All the other food is also so fresh and delicious! It's fun to share the food family style so that you can try different items on the menu. My husband and I kept commenting how amazing the food was all the way back home.
What a quaint little restaurant with a nice neighborhood vibe. It's the perfect place to go to when walking and exploring Long Beach.
We had 3 dishes (all with eggs on the sides since one person is allergic), the Breakfast Pasta, the Chilaquiles, and the Hangar Steak Hash.
That also happened to be the order of when they came out and of deliciousness, lol. The Breakfast Pasta has poached egg (on the side), Truffle, bacon, and aged parmesan breadcrumbs on top of the pasta. It is very delicious pasta and all the ingredients work well together without tasting so one-note. It's no wonder that it is one of their most popular dishes.
The Chilaquiles is also very popular for a very good reason. If you love a little bit of heat and more complex flavor, then this one is for you. The dish comprises of confit chicken, salsa bomba, cream, cilantro, and sunny side egg (on the side). It is a very interesting savory dish with a lot of flavor and good earthy spiciness. This is not your typical boring chips-and-salsa, that's for sure.
Lastly, we got the Hangar Steak Hash, which sadly is less exciting after the first 2 dishes. It is a bit more on the safe side, and the crispy potatoes were a little less crispy, when the salsa Macha, pickled peppers, and hollaindaise kinda blend together without being too distinct. It's a good dish, just not one to have after better dishes.
All in all, I am looking forward to trying out more on the menu, though! We need to support more of these types of neighborhood restaurants in our community.
Surprisingly very good, hand made pasta and out of the box sauces. Loved it.
This is a decent place for Italian food. The roasted cauliflower was pretty good and unique. The pepperocini and red onions went well with it. The angel hair with mussels and clams were very good. It looks like spaghetti-os but it is very good. The gnocchi was also good and interesting given its abnormal shape.it was very pillowy and good with the sauce. Both pasta dishes had some sort of kick with it. The atmosphere was lively and but of noise with as many ppl as there was eating there.
The service was a little bit inconsistent, from being late to being seated after making a reservation to not being attendee to in a timely manner. Overall good place to eat at. I'd come back to try some of their more interesting items like the shrimp and melon.
Terrible area to find parking so come ahead of time.
Hidden gem in Long Beach, I bring everyone here and come here for all special celebrations. This is 100% local charm. Must haves are the shrimp and melon salad (trust me, I dream about this salad), all of the pasts are wonderful, my favorite is the tagliatelle, but the lasagna is also amazing. They have a great happy hour as well and the outside patio makes this a wonderful spring/summer hang out. They also have a side restaurant Gingers that does some great stuff!
Very cute spot. Tagliatelle was on point.
So, my friends flew down to celebrate my birthday with me over the weekend. We wanted to go to brunch and I saw a lot of amazing reviews from tiktok and Instagram about Ellie's and suggested to go here. My friend made a 2pm reservation, which had like a fee for each person in your party that didn't show. We got to the restaurant at 2:05. There was no one at the hostess booth. No biggie. We just waited. Employees were smiling at us but ignoring us. We thought that maybe we were doing something wrong, like maybe we needed to actually be inside. As soon as we stepped one foot in the door a woman told us she'd be with us in a minute. Cool, we remained outside and waited. A server came up to us and told us we could sit anywhere. Odd. Why have a reservation system if it's open seating? We chose an area where our party could fit but the table needed to be cleaned. The server said they'd clean the table and let us know when we could sit there. They cleaned the table and left. We realized we could sit down, so we did. We sat for like 10-15 minutes while servers helped everyone around us, awkwardly smiled at us, but ignored us. When a server finally showed up, they asked if we had already ordered because they thought someone else took our order. We didn't even have water. He came back with menus and said he'd be back to take our orders. He NEVER came back. Our water cups were dirty and there was something floating in my water. Like we sat for like another 15 minutes waiting for the server to come back, but we decided to leave. What was wild was, it wasn't even busy. We ended up going to a different spot, The Attic, which was like 6 minutes away. Their menu was better. Their drinks were better. Their prices were better. The service was better--like night and day. Anyways, The Attic was WAY better.
It’s our second time in Ellie’s and this place will definitely gonna be our one of the best places in Long beach!

This place is my absolute favorite restaurant. Super low key but gives you a great food experience. Honestly this place is bougie on a budget—affordable higher quality dining with a quiet vibe. THE BEST! the wagyu carpaccio was so shockingly good. I’ll always be Ellie’s biggest fan.
I love this place. It had been a while since I had been, and I was pleased to see that the food was still very delicious and the service was great! I recommend the chilaquiles and the bacon. It's like marinated roasted pork belly, I've never had anything like it. I felt very comfortable. The ambiance is perfect for brunch; a very cute neighborhood vibe. I'm looking forward to visiting again and trying other menu items. I would definitely recommend.
It's a mixed bag.
The food comes out one at a time which I get as it's a small kitchen.
The chicken parm was overcooked as well as the noodles.
The lasagna pasta was good but sauce only ok. Not much sausage in it which was disappointing.
Dessert good.
Service friendy and nice
Overall cost was high vs other italian cuisine I have had and not as good quality.
We went to a 12 seat chef tasting and it was wonderful. Everything was very good. I only give 4 stars for food because they served a salad with pork fat vinegarette. It was gritty. They didn't strain the fat and it made the salad gritty. It was tasty but the texture threw me off. I will go back here. Wonderful place!
So wonderful! The bacon was enormous and delicious
