For the LB Food week special the appetizers were two seafood items- an oyster and a scallop served separately and beautiful. Both delicious but the oyster's drizzle of lime, cucumber, jalapeno and dotted with ikura (roe) was particularly enchanting. The scallop sauce was tangy and delish as well with a splash of chili oil. The last appetizer was a parker house roll, which was good but I prefer regular bread. But it was nicely grilled and had a nice whipped butter calabrian chili spread on the side. It was petite so no worries about it killing your appetite.

The Pappardelle pasta itself was fresh but I found the simple sundried tomatoes and garlic confit sauce a tad on the plain side. But a nice portion to share.

The tri-tip apparently was the popular selection for this menu over the swordfish which is always on the menu. Kudos to the chef that it was prepared perfectly. The heirloom tomatoes with tiny slices of pepper were a nice contrast.

The dessert was a refreshing strawberry compote (perhaps not the correct food term) but it was a nice light dairy dessert with fresh strawberries albeit it would be great with little used rhubarb.

Service was good.

Super cute place with ample patio seating. Yes, you can bring your (little) dog but be mindful that it's first come/first serve so you and your pet may have to be seated elsewhere if the dog vibes get out of hand, which is what happened last night. Luckily, Ellie's has two patio sections and everyone was happy.

Also, note, that Ellie's suggest that if you need transportation to get here, consider an Uber/Lyft. Residential parking takes up most of the immediate area. Long Beach bus #121 drops off on Ocean Blvd, which is 4 or so blocks away.

Local eatery with an open and airy interior with shaded out door seating. Food was well executed. You can tell they put a lot of thought into the details. The gnocchi with shrimp was a standout. Friendly and informed staff made our experience truly wonderful. The salted caramel budino was super good and made by one of them! Even if you're full, order it, you won't regret it. We will be back soon. Before I forget: street parking only-get ready for a walk!

I really wanted to love this place. The service was great, super friendly, knowledgeable, attentive. Its a really cute spot. For me, the food didn’t deliver. They were out of both bottles of wine we were interested in, out of 2/3 of desserts. We got the bone marrow board, steak tartar, lasagna, angel hair. Nothing was awful, but it wasn’t great either. Angel hair was overcooked, super salty. Lasagna was pretty empty, the sauce was basic. Felt like the bone marrow board was missing something. For a 200$ dinner I just expected more.

2025: Absolutely lovely Monday pre fixe menu.

2023: Outstanding restaurant. Everything we ordered was well crafted, an excellent mix of flavors. I did think some of the basic wine was a little underwhelming and overpriced, though.

My boyfriend and I ordered the crab toast, Agnolotti, and the Tagliatelle. I did not enjoy the crab toast; it was subpar quality crab and caviar and Thea’s so much ingredients mixed in that it more distracting than elevating in flavor. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed the pasta dishes. I cannot wait to come back and try the other handmade pasta dishes.

Our server came to our table and asked us about the food, but we were waiting to be served, after a long wait the first dish arrived, the food was warm not hot, after a long wait the second one was served, the lasagna was
cold, the last dish arrived very late and not very good, our reservation was at 7:15 and we left the restaurant around 9:45, service is extremely slow

Amazing food and staff! Only downside is the parking. Uber is the way to go. However, once you sit down, its all worthwhile. We tried a bunch of different pastas, all 10/10. The appetizers were all good as well. Our server said they recommend doing it family style which was great advice. We all throughly enjoyed our evening and didn't have a single bad bite.

This is a review for Ginger's:

Dining at Ginger’s was easily one of the most memorable culinary experiences I’ve had in Long Beach. This intimate restaurant offers a spectacular seven-course tasting menu that celebrates both creativity and comfort.

Highlights included an exquisite yellowtail crudo — delicate, bright, and perfectly balanced — and a decadent pasta bathed in a luscious Parmesan sauce, dotted with caviar. Each bite was a reminder of how luxurious simple ingredients can become in the hands of a talented chef.

The wine pairing is an absolute must here. Every pour was thoughtfully selected, beautifully complementing each course. A standout was the Pecorino white which was simply a joy to sip on its own.

The atmosphere was equally enchanting. We were seated at a long communal table that fits about twelve guests in a softly lit room, with mellow lo-fi RnB playing in the background. It was the perfect setting to unwind and truly savor the evening.

But perhaps the best part was sharing this experience with other Long Beach locals — people who also love great food and wine. By night’s end, strangers felt like friends, bonded by great food and love for our city.

If you’re looking for an unforgettable night out, Ginger’s is it. Don’t miss it.

Insider tips: Ginger’s is right next door to Ellie’s — you’ll actually check in at Ellie’s before being seated. The menu changes roughly every month, so there’s always something new to try. Parking can be tricky in this part of Long Beach, so consider taking a rideshare or giving yourself extra time to find a spot. Trust me, it’s worth it.

We were looking forward to our dinner at Ellie’s, as we heard great things. I will say, the Brussels Sprouts were delicious and beautifully seasoned, but the pasta dishes were incredibly salty. Shame too, because the pasta itself had a great texture, only to be ruined by bad sauce. The service was poor as well; we weren’t here on a busy night, and I had to go up to ask for a water refill. All around a disappointing experience, and don’t plan on returning.

I'll let you know know this is it. No clue how to make your customers feel at peace eating there your tables are butted up the wait line to where when youre seated the people waiting to be seated are leaning against you and all in your conversation. Food was mere 2.5 had the lasagna ok texture on the pasta hidden inside the lasagna is a sausage that is pressed with over abundance of flavor fennel seed.

Very small spot the inside is hotter than bare butt on tin off in August. I head a lot of good things about Ellie's but there are other restaurants near by that are serving pure traditional Italian food and with great seating and absolute amazing service.

Filter your water care about your product use better ingredients and teach your young staff where to position your customers where to wait not against the people that are already sitting. You need a g.m.
