After my chiropractor appointment I was looking for a good deli sandwich. I stumbled upon this place on Google maps. This was a bad idea. I should've known when i walked in that I was going to be in for it. Deli is located in a liquor store. Decor and atmosphere was not pleasant.
I got the pastrami and the toasted Italian.
The Italian was ok. Sandwich was a bit dry and underwhelming. Not much flavor.
The pastrami I was looking forward to was so bad. I should've known when he had to get the pastrami meat from the opposite side of the store away from the deli counter. It tasted sour, possibly gone bad. Only had 2 bits maybe and had to throw away the rest.
I do not recommend this place.

$14 French dip on small/thin white sub maybe 2” x 8” very little meat and was overcooked and didn’t even taste like beef more like turkey. Au Jus was watered down and also taste like turkey or chicken broth. Not worth the stop for a deli sandwich. However the liquor, beer and wine selection is plentiful.

This is a delicious hole-in-the-wall deli and liquor store. They have great freshly made sandwiches and it's very affordable. I got a large sub and a Mexican coke for $15. They have an enormous selection of alcohol. Beer wine liquor you name it.This might be my favorite sandwich in Long Beach.

Stopped in for a late bite after a very busy day of flying and sightseeing. Hotel recommended and they were not wrong. The service was great and the food was delicious. Portions are really good size so do not be afraid to order the half order. Also, try the chocolate suicide cake. I ordered it to take back to the hotel. My mistake was not eating it fast enough because my wife, who did not want dessert, devoured half of the cake. Enjoy.
Vegetarian lasagna was excellent. The portion size was great, and it came with two enormous pieces of garlic bread. Best of all, they let me upgrade the small dinner salad to the Caprese Salad. The salad was fantastic. Service was relatively fast. Restaurant was clean and bathrooms were well kept.
Walked by restaurant several times and read strong reviews.. after long day of education and exercise I wanted a local restaurant for carry out. The staff was very friendly.. I ordered a small side salad.. just greens.. other items are extra.. the pita pizza with pesto and chicken/ goat cheese.. the flavors were excellent.. there was plenty of chicken and goat cheese. Perfect size for one.. prices are so responsible.. I will be back again before we leave town..
Found this place one evening and was super excited as it looked like a genuine authentic Italian Restaurant....totally wrong I had the lasagne and let me just tell you this, it was awful, it was like the cheapest shop bought lasagne, heated up in a microwave. It came with a garlic bread that was a cheap white roll with a lick of garlic butter on it. Come on guys, how hard is it to just bake some home made ciabatta or even heaven forbid make your own lasagne. Really disappointing and actually a little annoying, but most of all very scary that Americans actually eat this stuff and think it is good food. This is not authentic Italian food.
Walking along the street, Modica's is right on the corner. It was very convenient to the Westin, where I was staying. The menu is lengthy and offers some daily specials. I enjoyed a sandwich and soup, and then returned for a second sandwich. The bread was fresh and flavorful. If your looking for a snack or a light meal, this is the place.
I ordered food .. total was 31.00 I was charged 51.00 for surcharges plus delivery costs.. wow .. They only restrict only to Door Dash .. block postmates and uber eats.. Im done with Modicas for that .. !!

On Ocean Blvd. in downtown Long Beach, just a few blocks from the ocean, sits Modica's restaurant and deli. The picturesque Italian eatery, complete with a beautiful outdoor patio dotted with large leafy green plants and spacious seating, is the most perfect spot for a lovely afternoon or evening. You will find the impeccable service is only the start of it at this establishment (Anthony and Aristianna were our servers). The food is prepared with the freshest of ingredients, delighting the palate with every bite. The host and owner is none other than the beautiful and gracious Ms. Orsa Modica who spares no effort to make guests feel welcomed. I spent a memorable evening last night at Modica's, among old and new friends.
What a wonderful find with easy access via Linden from shoreline bike trail. Cute European style cafe with nice beverage and food choices. Reasonable prices for quality food. Easy to store bikes as you enjoy their food and people watch from outside corner. Friendly, efficient service. We will be back
What a lovely restaurant, good food and service. There are always little lights and a romantic atmosphere. The owner is a really nice person. Love the pasta and sandwiches. Almost twice a week I come here to eat and have a Lavaza Coffee.
