I love this little local gem. I have a friend I meet here semi regularly for a little breakfast before work and it never disappoints. They have a seasonal coffee menu that always has daring flavors and their food is affordable and yummy.

Such a cozy little spot. Great service, warm atmosphere, and honestly the perfect way to start the morning. Loved my matcha and the pumpkin bread was a treat. I had a breakfast sandwich too and it was delicious.
Wasn't even able to try a coffee, didn't greet me and the woman just stood there and stared at me after saying all the could serve was matcha and coffee would take too long. I understand you saying your closing in 20 minutes but how are you not able to serve a regular cup of coffee but can serve matcha which as a Japanese myself has a lot more steps to make it then a vanilla latte. Someone else put the woman's picture up, she has no welcoming look to her nor does she greet you with a Hello, welcome may I ask what you are looking to buy or a sorry we are closing in 20 minutes here are our options. I ended up going to a coffee shop around the corner, they greeted me and was genuinely happy to take my order. I did like the cute look of the shop tho the attitude has got to change.

Ground Hideout is one of those spots that instantly makes you feel at home. The staff truly goes above and beyond to make you comfortable — you can tell they genuinely care about their customers. The owner is incredibly sweet and attentive, always checking in with a smile and making sure everyone’s having a great experience.
The coffee is perfection — rich, smooth, and clearly made with love. The food is just as impressive — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick caffeine fix or planning to hang out for a while, this place hits the mark every time.
It’s truly a hidden gem in Long Beach — cozy, welcoming, and full of good vibes. Highly recommend!
Really delicious breakfast biscuit and brown butter banana muffins. We had the orange cardamom latte and the seasonal cookie butter latte. Both were fantastic. The owner was serving us and was so attentive and interested in whether we liked our order. Highly recommend!

Really wish this place would give actual mugs when you’re choosing to stay. Other than that, I love this place. Real mugs I can wrap my hands around would add so much coziness to the atmosphere and make me feel better that I’m not wasting a paper or plastic cup each time.

Food and coffee were delicious. But the lady working there was very rude. Not a good way to start a morning.

Stopped by this spot on my way to look for some delicious coffee & breakfast. They did NOT disappoint.
Tried the collagen coffee & the breakfast burrito - both hit the spot easily.
The staff are also super sweet!

Tried the coffee on Sunday with a young man making it and it was delicious despite a long wait time! Returned three days later for the same coffee and unfortunately he wasn’t there. The coffee came out almost immediately but was so terrible I didn’t even drink it. May give it one more whirl or just call it quits. Haven’t tried the food but don’t really intend to as I already have local favorites.

cute place but prices leave much to be desired for portions as well
Over priced coffee and unpleasant service. The owner is not kind to customers with service animals. She even tried to talk in Spanish to her employees about me not knowing I speak Spanish, as an Afro Latina woman. I would not recommend. Coffee was mid and experience was low.
