Enjoyed the best mangonada! I loved the mural featuring this specialty. The service was professional and friendly; they went above and beyond to give my cousin and me lots of taste samples and to take a photo for us
While waiting for my Vegan Castle order, I walked next door to find Guanabana. For full discourse, the (very kind owner) told us he was trying to sell the business. I am not sure how long it will still be there or if it will serve the same sorbet, but until then, it is worth a visit. The store is predominantly vegan and labeled. They offer a few dairy-based ice creams, but they are separate from the sorbets. The sorbets are absolutely amazing, and you can taste the freshness. We were told they make their own ice cream, and it is obvious from the first bite! There were many flavors, including some I had never seen before. We had two big scoops, topped with chamoy, chile, and fresh mango, for $5.00. Yes, only $5.00 per cup. Some popsicles were vegan as well. If you get a chance and like sorbet, this is worth a visit. The owner is so friendly, and the product is fantastic. Support local! #Veganuary Updated from previous review on 2023-01-16
After eating at Vegan Castle, I find Guanabana a few yards up the same block on Santa Fe. At the time, I have two dollars to spend, and I walk in to receive good customer service from an employee that tells me of the different Vegan/Non-Vegan options. I buy a Fruit Bar Medley (which costs two dollars), and I like it. The Fruit Bar Medley is a good tasty snack that doesn't taste unnaturally sweet, and bits of real fruit are in the bar! HEADS UP: there is a sign on the front door of the establishment requesting only cash.
I got a lemon ice cream and it didn't taste good! $5.00 for it, not worth it! ??
Ugh where do I begin I love this place their mangonada is bomb af sometimes their mango cut up is to hard but other than that the sorbet is DELICIOUS
I really wanted to like this place because they offer vegan options and have great reviews, but unfortunately, we did not have a pleasant experience here. The lady that helped us was mean spirited. (I hope she was just having a bad day.) She held our $20 hostage for 5+ minutes while she critiqued veganism then reluctantly gave us our change. She criticized Vegan Castle even though that was the only reason we were even in the neighborhood. She made a face at a customer who left because she only had a credit card. The list goes on! Please bring back the guy that everyone in the reviews said is nice!
This place was amazing! The man was very kind and awesome customer service! Loved the ice cream and has tons of vegan options. Definitely recommend! 100/10!!!
This is my go to place for a mangonada. I’m really glad I found it! The owners are very friendly and all of the sorbet is made by hand, in house, with fresh ingredients. Lots of really yummy, unique flavors available to choose from. Made only as spicy as you’d like and topped with fresh mango. You can also just get the sorbet, which is perfect by itself. I love to bring my friends with me or coming for a solo for a treat. Street parking out front & cash only.
