I'm from Memphis ...where Gus's originated. I've had the chicken there so many times. I've also had it in several other locations around the country. The flavor is consistent because they fly the secret seasoning blend to all their remote locations daily or weekly. So that's solid.... BUT OF ALL THE LOCATIONS I'VE BEEN TO, LONG BEACH HAS THE ABSOLUTE BEST THAT I'VE HAS UP TO THIS POINT! I'VE NEVER HAD CHICKEN SO JUICY.... EVEN THE BREAST.... which is known for being dry... was so juicy and tender i almost ordered a delivery of more chicken after we finished what we picked up and brought home. It was that good!! Highly recommended. Call in your order in advance. We learned the hard way... the wait wasn't too too long but there was about a 20 minute wait. The staff was very pleasant and friendly. The pecan and sweet potatoe pies were both very good too.Parking: Very convenient and free

Used to be a nice and lively place to have a Sunday chicken dinner. Now it's dark and sad. We were the only table dining in on Sunday afternoon. No server anymore. Order at the counter and don't get your drink until the food comes. Chicken is better than KFC. Sides are subpar at best. Floors, table tops and restrooms dirty. Definitely not the place it once was.

This is my first and last time trying Gus. The fried chicken ( 2 breast, wing & leg) is tender and tasty, however I've had better crust.Theirs is not crunchy for being "fried chicken". I had a side of slaw, beans (tasted good) & a slice of bread. I also ordered a slice of their Pecan pie, which is my favorite. My grievance is that i never got my slice of pie that cost me $6. If a restaurant is busy, I'll take the time to look inside and check my order, but Gus wasn't. There was only one customer ahead of me that was being waited on by another employee. The cashier who rang me up never bothered to check the receipt to make sure the order was correct. That is the restaurant's responsibility to give their customers what they paid for! Also my items were all put in ONE to go container, it would've been nice to have my sides packaged separately. My total was $28.05, for that amount I can eat elsewhere.

Theeeee best fried chicken i ever had!!! The sides are all fire and that sweet tea, sweet like i love it! The chicken skin is so crispy its like chicarrones on top with a spicy kick i mean my is watering right now!

Omggggg the prices are crazy !!!! No matter how good your chicken is!!!!! Are you cray over $20 for a 2 piece chicken meal. That’s sooooooo price gouging… I mean I understand food prices went up !!!! But rally !!!! A whole chicken at Costco is $4.99 a whole chicken with you is $50 explain that one. Well we will not be coming we are to poor to eat you overpriced chicken !! Thanks for nothing !!

The chicken is good. Let’s get that out the way. It’s just expensive. I got three wings and two sides for $17. The mac & cheese is inedible, taste like kraft. Would not recommend. Fries are cool.Just expected to be completely satisfied for $20 take out.

Good experience at Gus World Famous Fried Chicken. I had the Fried Green Tomatoes when I visited thst weekend. The Green Tomatoes were cooked well and the dipping sauce was good. The waitstaff/Cashier was very friendly and helpful - Great place. ??

Customer service was excellent! Mac & cheese was good, greens good. Chicken was not fresh, but dry. Tasted old. Unimpressive. Which is why 3 stars. I'm going to give it another try though
Best fried chicken I ever had. Greens and baked beans are awesome. Very friendly staff and comfortable dining area. Will definitely be back with my family.

Absolutely fantastic time and super helpful server, Edwin! We ate dinner here and got a Tuesday special (which wasn't on the written menu), 3 drumsticks + 2 sides for $9.50 (truly a steal!) We got all the sides and while my friends liked all of them, my personal favorites were (in order) Mac n cheese, fries, and then the beans (which surprised me because I don't usually like beans), then the potato salad, slaw, and collard greens followed in my probably-wouldnt-personally-get category (although again, my friends enjoyed them all) And Edwin pointed us to the pecan pie (with ice cream) for dessert ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. 20/10 would recommend!

Eh, Not impressed by their chicken. Crispy for sure but the crust felt like eating feied breadcrumbs. Mc and cheese was meh, coleslaw was ok. 22% for 3 pieces dark meat meal with 1 drink is hella expensive. The pieces are not even that big. I'd rather hit Church's next time.
